living in the Lake Wales, Florida area. I bought a house in Winter Haven which is very close to Lake Wales. It would be fun to get together down there with other PDS classmates.” I got an email from Evan Donaldson this spring. He wrote that he has done some marathon runs, including a race on the Pacific Coast Highway with his daughter. Mazzie Madeira Gogolak was sorry to miss the 45th. “Please give my regards to Connie, Gail and Punky. I can just see them as we all were 50 years ago at MFS. Did you know I can still sing the school song by heart?! I am not sure if the ‘lamp of knowledge’ is still guiding our education system, but I am sure that PDS is a wonderful school.” I recently read in the Princeton Alumni Weekly of the passing of Walter Daub, Faron Daub Fahy’s father. He was in the Princeton Class of ’39. He died in March at the age of 97. In addition to his years teaching math, he was an avid athlete, loving the out-of-doors and always
happy to be hiking or kayaking in the backwoods of Maine. Faron, we are sorry for your loss and send our condolences to you. Gillian Gordon Crozier was sorry to miss the 45th. She was in the middle of a crucial work time. “I am Programme Director of the MA Producing Film and TV at Royal Holloway, University of London and my students are making their first film. Please pass on my best and big hugs all around. Bob and I are back in London after three years in Singapore where our daughter, Isla, lives. She works in the fashion branding biz and Mirren is a costume designer in Hollywood. Her latest effort (Short Term 12) just won SXSW best film! I am in the states a lot as we now have a home in East Hampton. We are there as much as we can. All are invited for cocktails on the terrace this summer. Please stop by.” What a great offer. Maybe we can have a mini-reunion at the tip of Long Island! I am sorry to let our readers know that Sandy Wandelt’s brother, Ferdie (PCD ’63) died in late July. The Wandelt family were huge supporters of sports at PCD and PDS. We extend our sympathy to Sandy and the family.

Our 45th reunion was quite a success. Although our numbers were few (Gail Smith Cleare and Sia Godfrey Bauer and Joe Chandler had to cancel at the last minute), we had lively conversations and good eats (thanks to the caterers at PDS). Saturday offered school tours—including a new woodchip trail along the PDS boundary. There was a lovely gathering in remembrance of George Packard in the Upper School library, which included two of his daughters, Susan and Cynthia. Many stories were shared by his daughters, as well as several alums—mostly ’68ers, along with a handful of ’66ers, a ’69er and a teacher.

Other highlights of the weekend included a fine dinner at Colross with seven alums and two spouses (Andy Fishman’s wife, Kim Le and Rick Ross’s wife, Judy). Andy and Kim Le travelled from California to be at the reunion. Toasts were made to Mary Hobler Hyson and Rick and Sia (in her absence) for making the arrangements for the reunion. The committee also took on the challenge and managed to convince classmates to donate to the Annual Fund. With some guidance from Tracey Gates in the Alumni Office, and an extra boost from Rick offering a challenge gift, the class raised over $10,000. That’s an amazing amount. Thanks to all who contributed.

We’ve been a little slim in news, but happy to report that I have some this time… Rebecca Bushnell was elected to the PDS Board of Trustees. In June, the New York Times printed an article called, “The Unspoken Stigma of Workplace Flexibility,” which included many quotes from and a photo of Joan Williams.

Elizabeth Meredith Rigo 200 East 90th Street, #8H New York, NY 10128-3531 212-360-6752 nessoid@aol.com Georgia Myer reported that she was married on June 1, 2013 to Patrick Farmer in East Calais, VT.
Sunday morning a handful of classmates continued the reunion at Connie Sayen Ban’s home. She one-handedly created an elegant brunch. Most classmates headed off by noon, but Katie Ecroyd and yours truly stayed another three hours. Fun for all. Hopefully, our 50th will find more alums returning to PDS. Suzanne Blanchet Hirst sent her regards, sorry that she could not come to the reunion. “Lisa Lawrence and I have been in touch these last five years and it has been great renewing an old friendship. I’ve also heard from Joe Chandler many times. I saw that there are several alums
