A TRUE CAPITAL OF SPORTS In the past years, the city of Cluj-Napoca has become a true sports capital, hosting high level international matches from all areas of sports. Its modern sports infrastructure includes the beautiful Cluj Arena stadium, next to it - the most modern Polyvalent Hall in Romania, followed by the “Horia Demian” Sports Hall and right next to them, the two parks preferred by sports performers and amateurs alike: the “Iuliu Hațieganu” Park, with facilities that span from swimming to tennis, and the “Simion Bărnuțiu” Central Park, perfect for an outdoor run. The Someș River bank also provides a nice flow to jogging, bikes or rollerblading enthusiasts. Moreover, at the end of 2016, the most modern sports base in the city’s history was inaugurated in the Gheorgheni neighbourhood, with free access to all. Facilities here allow for playing table tennis, basketball, mini-soccer, badminton, paintball, outdoor fitness and many more.
