Getaway Travel Destination Ideas
St.Thomas Virgin Islands is a must on your travel bucket list. The weather is great year round minus a few occasions. When landing on the island, the island sneaks up on you. Thirty seconds before touching ground it seemed like we were still in the middle of the ocean. Deboarding the plane l was greeted by the National Guard, who check our temperature and Covid-19 status. From the minute we exited the plane the people were very friendly. Friendly advice, keep a little cash on hand for taxi cabs, cash app isn’t a popular thing there. I found out they drive on the opposite side of the road there. The scenery was so being on the water. One of their beaches is walking distance from the airport. Getting to and from the other islands isn’t too costly and the schedules aren’t bad. You can travel by boat or by plane. The food was excellent and the people were very friendly. Not to far from the cruise ship port there’s an area for shopping for expensive jewelry and watches. Make sure you have a sufficient amount of money at your disposal because the Virgin Islands can get tricky money wise. Food is kind of spendy, roughly $25 a meal without a tip. So if you’re by yourself don’t be surprised to spend $100 daily eating out. The food is quite tasty. All in all the trip was a great $700 getaway for four days. My online complaint was the food prices at the airport, l paid about $30 for a sandwich, drink, and chips. Other than that the trip was amazing, so much so l tried to book another trip there before l even left.
