LOOKING INTO AMIRRAH, A SOULFUL REFLECTION

Memphis’ Minnie Riperton, A’Mirrah Elise has been singing since the tender age of three years old. She wrote her first song at eight years old. After singing for two groups in high school, Protégé and Casual, she decided to hone her craft. A’Mirrah’s migration to Atlanta soon had her in contact with legendary music producers like Jazze Pha, Dallas Austin, and Tim Thomas to name a few. Her vocal contributions can be heard on Alvin “Ace” Watkins formerly of R Kelly’s Public Announcement. She has interned for Kevin Liles who was the president of Def Jam and went on to launch KWL and 300 Entertainment. The singer has learned from the best in the business like Jojo Brim who managed Trey Songz. A’Mirrah has worked with Lester Pace of Rocnation with R&B sensation J Howell. She is currently working on a gospel project and building her brand Amirrah Image. I had the pleasure of interviewing her a couple years ago and was in awe of her pedigree and history. We promised to run the interview back so she can perform live. Coming out of Memphis there’s a rich cultural and musical history. It is the birthplace of Elvis, home of Yo Gotti and BB King, so A’Mirrah has her work cut out for her. Some thing tells me she is more than up for the task. I suspect the vocal training she received from “Disney Teacher of The Year” Lulah M Hedgeman has prepared her for conquest of the music business. Sometimes in order to figure out a person’s future, one must really look into the mirror to evaluate who you are and your purpose. Covering this story gives me soulful reflective insight, proving A’Mirrah is a powerful tool worth looking to.
