He has mainly worked with costume art, wearable sculpture, textiles, and performance and installation pieces, including collaborative work with other artists. He has also developed a taste for creating immersive mixed media art experiences, like a queer forest he is currently building in his home. A multitude of miniature dwellings house a whole community of queer and quirky animals living their lives in exhuberant and surprising ways under the roots. Gottfred’s art is whimsical and existential, with great attention to detail. Creating has always been an anchor and a source of strength and joy in his everyday life, as well as a way to create awareness and discussion about queerness, identity, sexuality, self expression, activism, death, life and love. Also, he just loves sharing his pure and hard earned joy with others. Always being «too much», he now believes many to be «too little». Free at last.
