LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

We are pleased to share this 2022 PVM Annual Report. Many thanks to all of you who contributed to the success we experienced this past year.

THE TIME IS NOW! For decades, the aging housing and services network has been sounding the alarm. The time to take action is now! Our senior population is growing rapidly creating one of the most dramatic demographic shifts in history. But, the resources and services have not kept pace with that growth. Presently there are 2.8 million people over the age of 65 in Michigan; and these numbers will rise 32% by 2030. Fortunately, PVM saw the writing on the wall. With planning and innovation throughout the past several decades, we devoted our strategic planning to address these issues. Many of our new initiatives, as outlined in our strategic plan, have built upon that foundation of planning and innovation.

The following are a handful of things PVM accomplished in 2022:

ظ Advanced our mission to transform senior living and services

ظ Began new options for housing and services system-wide

ظ Achieved major growth and success with our PACE programs

ظ Awarded $8.2M for the expansion of Court Street at McFarlan in Flint

ظ Secured $6M in state funding for the Campaign For The Ages

ظ Received major support for tele-health hubs at many of our Villages

ظ Achieved national recognition of a joint initiative with LeadingAge to recruit and train young professionals to the field of aging services while promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice (DEIJ)

ظ Secured a $600,000 federal grant and launched a Workforce Development initiative that shows promise as a national model

ظ Held a ribbon cutting/grand opening at The Village of East Harbor

ظ Opened The Birches at Perry Farm Village to provide expanded service for much needed memory care in the Harbor Springs area

All of this and so much more was made possible because of the countless contributions from residents, donors, volunteers and staff with their generosity of time, talent and treasure.

Once again, Thank you all!
