Behind Jill Hansen and her Anastasia’s of Broome, there is a rich background leading to the thriving company based in Broome today.

It all started over 30 years ago, when Jill was captivated not only by pearls but the entire culture and mystique that surrounds them. She was determined to build her professional life around these incredibly beautiful gems and was lucky enough to be able to do so firstly through Nash Pearls, and now Anastasia’s of Broome.

Jill’s journey commenced with her training in the Cook Islands where she mastered the art and practice of seeding pearls, harvesting, and grading them. She makes no apologies for trying to infect others with a love of pearls. Jill says “these are beautiful jewels which can express so much about nature and indeed our own inner being”.

Of course, Anastasia’s of Broome doesn’t just sell pearls. They are above all an artistic and creative company which seeks to present pearls in a fashion context. That’s why all Anastasia’s pearls are completed by immaculate finishings in gold, platinum or silver, which are designed to exploit the brilliance of the pearl (or pearls) to the maximum extent possible.

Another range which the business is immensely proud of is its diamond range, which varies in sizes and a multitude of colours from pink, blue, green, and brown. There’s also a distinctive focus on stocking unique and bespoke jewellery hand-crafted here in Broome or WA, as well as an extensive range of quality European designs.

Apart from the beauty of gemstones, Anastasia’s is also continuing to expand its watch range, supplying the iconic Australian brand Adina, as well as many other wellknown brand names such as Citizen, Casio, and Baby G.

As a family-owned and operated business, Jill and Peter have bought their own unique flair to the Anastasia’s brand and have introduced into Broome their own internationally trademarked “Lust” pearl jewellery. It is their unique fusion of brilliant cut diamonds into the pearls — thus combining two of nature’s wonders into a single cohesive whole. This range is known as Lust Pearls™.

Lust Pearls™ jewellery has caught the eye of the A-list, with items worn at the Oscars, having sold into the USA market for the last 18 years.
