The Fitzroy River Lodge is located in the heart of the Kimberley, situated beautifully on the banks of the Martuwarra River (Fitzroy River). Earlier this year the lodge, surrounding communities, and a large area around the township of Fitzroy Crossing, suffered severe flood damage from the effects of Cyclone Ellie.

Due to the help from DFES, Australian Defence Force, locals, and multiple other agencies, the iconic destination is back open for business and looking forward to rebuilding sections of the property as needed — better than ever. The area is bustling at the moment, with tourism steadily getting busier and the rebuilding of the new dual laneway bridge boosting vibrancy within the area.

The Fitzroy River Lodge offers a wide range of accommodation to suit all travellers. The campground is open (at reduced capacity) for the self- driver travellers. You can wander around the property, have sunset on the river banks, and simply ‘chilllax’ on fifty acres of natural bushland.

Expect to see amazing wildlife on the property — local birdlife for the 'twitchers', Wallabies enjoying the early mornings, and the odd large cow that has escaped mustering. The Fitzroy River is also a mustsee attraction — whether at the end of the dry season to appreciate the expanse of the river, or during the wet season when it turns into a magnificent spectacle.

The spacious motel rooms enclose a beautifully refreshing pool, complete with sunlounges and sunbathing ‘decks’. Amenities and features include free wifi, flat screen tv’s, workspaces for the remote travellers, and room service too.

New safari tents are now available (with or without ensuites) as well. Tucked out of the way, facing bushland — welcome the most relaxing end to your day in this special space.

A full bar service, a la carte restaurant, bar menu, 24-hour check-in, and conference rooms are all available to enhance your stay. The team have worked hard to get the property back to what it was and continue to improve it still.
