Reaching Lalang-garram (the Horizontal Falls) in a single day, Kimberley Day Cruise’s vessel Ohana — a recipient of the 2015 Ausmarine Shipbuilding Awards, has been carefully refurbished with custom modifications that exceed Australian Marine Safety Standards and enable the highest quality customer experience.

The 23.5m vessel was purchased by Kimberley Day Cruise in 2021. Identified for its superior engineering and a cruising speed that would enable a round trip tour to the Horizontal Falls in a single day, The Ohana offers excellent stability and reaches an impressive cruising speed of 25 knots.

More recently, The Ohana has been completely remodelled with a contemporary open kitchen and bar — allowing its professional hospitality team to provide an exceptional dining service on the high-seas.

The team have recently installed comfortable full-back, extra wide seating in elegant cream marine leather, placed around shared group tables catering for up to eight guests. A large, shaded awning covers the dining deck, with 270-degree views over the Kimberley Coast when seated.

When you journey with Kimberley Day Cruise, you will encounter the majesty of the gorge and the falls entrance without passing through — as per the wishes of the Dambimangari people (the Traditional Owners of this area). Rest assured — there’s still plenty of fast boat thrills and adventure to be had.

In one of two zodiacs brought along specifically for the journey, you’ll venture up close and feel the awesome tidal power of Lalang-garram (the Horizontal Falls) while being expertly guided by one of two certified Master-5 skippers through the azure blue swirling waters of Talbot Bay. To safely manage one of the largest tidal changes in the world, The Ohana is fitted with the latest technology in marine satellite communication, navigation and carries two RIB tenders for guest transfers on and off the vessel.

Ensuring Kimberley Day Cruise makes the top of your bucket list, it has paired a sevencourse sustainably sourced local seafood menu with some of the most magnificent marine environs on earth.
