LEARN TO PLAY BY EAR! GUITAR, MANDOLIN & ELECTRIC BASS

LESSONS-

AGES 9-ADULT

WITH JOHN FULLER, MUSIC EDUCATOR AND SCHOOL MUSIC TEACHER FOR OVER 40 YEARS.

Learn to play by ear! Students of all levels can enjoy private or semi-private lessons on guitar, mandolin, or electric bass with veteran music teacher, John Fuller. Whether you are just picking up an instrument for the first time or want to learn to play your favorite style or song, John can help! No sheet music required, but you can bring it if you’d like help interpreting it. John has been responsible for igniting musical passion in hundreds of children and adults over the course of his career and has engendered musicianship in many lives from hobbyists to professionals.

John is flexible, patient and can work with many different styles of learners and music from Americana, Bluegrass, and Rock to Blues, and more! For convenience, a guitar will be available for use at the lesson if you'd rather not bring your own. For mandolin and bass, you will have to bring your own instrument. An amplifier will also be available if you prefer to bring an electric instrument. Homeschoolers welcome!

Once registered, John will contact you to schedule your time. Classes are held on Tuesdays & Wednesdays between 10:00am and 3:30pm.

BELLY DANCE WITH MALIA BEGINNING & INTERMEDIATE

WITH MALIA DEFELICE

BEGINNING: Experience this ancient joyful and cultural dance form of celebration with a favorite Bay Area performer and instructor, Malia DeFelice. In the Beginners series, learn basic dance steps, posture, arm movements and signature Belly Dance moves while stretching, strengthening, gaining flexibility, grace, stamina and confidence. Dancers with no previous experience or those wishing to refresh previously learned skills are welcome. Links to short videos will be shared for home practice.

INTERMEDIATE: Build on previous Belly Dance skills learned in the Beginners Level. Learn advanced movements and combinations that increase your ability to transition from one step to another to confidently interpret music. Choreography or incorporating props, such as Finger Cymbals, or Veils may be taught if requested. Learn to dance to a wider variety of traditional rhythms and melodies to expand knowledge of classic Belly Dance music. Links to practice videos will be available to all students. Previous Belly Dance experience required or teacher approval.

Persian Belly Dance Fusion

WITH AFSHANEH PAKDAMAN

Learn a combination of Egyptian Style Belly Dance with the elegance of Persian Dance movements and fundamentals of posture, isolations, steps, and shimmies. We will cover the accents of belly dance along with delicate arm and foot patterns of Persian Dancing. Class begins with a quick warm-up, followed by technique and combinations, and ends with stretching. Classes are suitable for all ability levels and students with no experience are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing, preferably fitted to the body and no shoes.
