With all the bar choices throughout Boulder County, West End Tavern is in a class by itself. “Our covered rooftop bar is a huge factor, with its great view of the Flatirons,” says general manager Mike Lawinski. “Also, our focus on cocktails, made with fresh ingredients, like our Pimms Cup and French mojito. We are a full bar with a lot of spirits selections and a vast selection in every category – bourbon is our specialty, and we feature more than 50 kinds. The crowd is eclectic, with older students and working adults of all ages.” Events draw crowds all week. Hear live music on the rooftop on Sunday evenings. Warren Miller films are featured Wednesday nights, along with giveaways and drink specials. Besides a spectrum of domestic beers, house wines, well drinks and infusions, there’s a full menu and all appetizers are discounted at Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. – and drop by for a late-night Happy Hour Thursday through Saturday from 10 to 11 p.m. Red Zone Sports Bar / The Pumphouse Brewery & Restaurant

Whether you crave comfort food or haute cuisine at your wedding, business meeting, holiday party or bat mitzvah, A Spice of Life can make it happen. In the event business since 1987, it offers a wide range of food and pricing – from elegant to casually festive, from full service to a home style meal for your Sunday dinner. Got 10 people coming, or hordes? No problem. In October 2006 A Spice of Life catered the opening bash for Twenty Ninth Street, feeding more than 3,000 guests. Hold your event at your location or at one of A Spice of Life’s, which boast fine views of the Flatirons. “We have four certified chefs in our kitchen,” says Juls Gunderson, Event Center manager. “Our kitchen staff has been with us for years – they are incredibly talented and capable, whether you want American, Continental or Ethnic food. They can even re-create a favorite family recipe for your event. One of the most important things is that we consistently provide our clients with high quality and a big variety of food and menu offerings,” Gunderson says. “We can design menus around dietary preferences, too, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and slow foods.” Mostly, A Spice of Life caters to corporate deliveries and meetings, and a lot of weddings. “Our wedding specialists are experts,” says Gunderson, “with many years experience working with different venues and vendors in the Boulder-Denver area.” Dish
