Designing for Experience Architecture goes beyond the utilitarian aspect of shelter; it is an experiential art form. Successful architectural design considers the human experience, engaging the senses and emotions to create meaningful interactions between people and their environment. The use of light, materials, scale, and spatial configurations can all influence how a place is experienced and remembered. Sense of Place A strong sense of place is essential for creating memorable and cherished spaces. Place-making is the process of designing environments that foster a distinct identity and resonate with the people who use them. Architecture that reflects the local culture, history, and context often establishes a stronger sense of place. Collective Memory Some buildings and places become collective symbols that hold memories for an entire community or society. Landmarks, memorials, and iconic buildings often carry historical, cultural, or social significance and contribute to the collective memory of a place.

TRANSFORMATION OF TRACKS ECHOING THE HISTORY OF RAILWAYS ERNAKULAM TERMINUS STATION
Ernakulam Terminus (Station Code : ERG), also called as Ernakulam Goods Station or Ernakulam Old Station, is an abandoned railway station in the Indian city of Kochi, Kerala. It is one of the first railway station in Kochi, built by the Maharaja Rama Varma. The first passenger trains started service from the station on 16 July 1902. The station lost its prominence with the commissioning of Ernakulam Junction Railway Station in 1932 and Cochin Harbor Terminus in 1943. Though a few passenger-trains used to halt at the old station till the 1960s, it was ignored with the passage of time and was abandoned in 1990. Many historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi , Swami Vivekanandha and Rabindranath tagore have visited Kochi through this station.

TRANSFORMATION OF TRACKS | THE NARRATIVE
Taking you to the past through an abandoned railway station located at Ernakulam, Cochin. This was the first station in Cochin , Kerala. It was one of the busiest stations in the south, but eventually lost its importance with the construction of the junction station. Getting into the Ernakulam terminus At the railway station, we travel through the journey of time, engage through space, and get to see how it is developed through ages, which signifies the importance of time. The first building shows the period remake which evokes our memories and brings in images of the past. When we exit out of the period room, we get to see the display of the locomotive engines, which also attracts visitors. From there, they move into the gallery space, which displays the timelines, events, sculptures, artifacts, and models of the station. Eventually we also get to see the development in the building we pass through. From the age old buildings to the contemporary containers. Then moving to the most contemporary part, which is the interactive zone and the shopping plaza, which also has some hands-on experience and workshops for the local arts of Kerala which then takes us to the bogie which has restaurants and cafes. Through this journey, they travel through time and know the importance of the past, present, and future. Moving through the spaces one can clearly see that the paradoxes cant be denied. It has a lot of binaries which include old - new, nature – manmade, Wide- narrow, still the space remains cohesive. Why not reconstruct? Critical reconstruction worsens the paradox because future generations have no physical trace, even if they have intellectual knowledge, of what went on before. Preserving this is essential to writing the history of the city accurately. This evokes memories of the past and creates awareness for the future to preserve and protect the history.

ATTITUDES OF THE SITE | SPATIAL TRANSFORMATION
The track shows the linearity and directionality throughout the site. The orientation of the buildings are also aligned to the track which guides movement. There is a common entry and exit point for the visitors which aids in the ticketin process a guided circulation.
Water bodies can act as a reflective surface, mirroring the surroundings, which can visually expand the perception of space. The water bodies are strategically placed in certain junctures where most of the elements are reflected and the depth is felt.
POINTS OF ACCESS AND TRACK
Circulation, such as walkways and pathways, can act as a wayfinding tool, guiding people through a space and shaping their experience by controlling the flow and direction of movement. Uninterrupted path which takes from one unit to the other and exits through the same point.
Zone 1 near clock tower, Amphitheatre between the 2 units and the hawking zone act as major interaction areas. These areas in the museum also contribute in the increased usage in the place and also bring in more users.

INTERACTIVE ZONES
The 4 DIMENSIONS or the attributes of how the system is organized throughout the site from the point of entrance to the exit in a sequential manner that each zone is covered without repetition.
Landscaping elements, such as trees, shrubs, and hedges, can act as natural partitions, defining different zones within a space and creating a sense of separation and enclosure. Also the native trees and shrubs creates a connect and memory with the place.
