WELCOME

Hello... …and welcome to another fantastic issue of Australian Simply Cards. As the days are getting shorter and the weather is cooling down, it’s good to have some crafty projects to keep us busy now that we are spending more time inside. To help with that, this month’s issue is jam packed with inspirational projects, new techniques and loads of ideas to keep you crafting through the winter months. Of course we have a fantastic free gift for you as well and, if you head over to page 12, we have some ideas to get you started using your free Happy Birthday die. This month, we have lots of interesting techniques to try, starting with the various ways you can incorporate wooden embellishments into your creations. This is a really hot trend right now and you can find out all about it on page 16. If you enjoy using matching stamps and dies, then you will love the gorgeous floral creations we have on page 24 using Heartfelt Creations products. These ideas are a perfect starting point for all your feminine makes. Another interesting look to experiment with is the Northern Lights background technique. This is demonstrated by Janelle Graham over on page 32, with some striking results. For our traditional stampers, we have some super cute cards featuring Magnolia stamps over on page 43. Teamed with punches and feminine papers, you’ll find these stamped images simply irresistible. Chipboard is a very versatile medium and this month, Teresa Abajo has some clever ideas for incorporating this into your cardmaking projects over on page 77. Now these are just the highlights this month, and we have lots more to offer including ways to use journaling cards as toppers as well as testing out the Sizzix eclips. We also have the latest news and the usual tips and tricks. And if you can’t wait for next issue, take a sneaky peek at our digital preview of issue 69 by visiting www.ppjump.com/asc69preview So until next month… Happy crafting!

From the heart

Debbie Pamment Designer

Debbie Pamment creates some stunning cards using the latest stamps and matching dies from Heartfelt Creations

SIMPLY SHOPPING Heartfelt Creations stamps & dies are available from www.scrapbooking.arnolds.net.au

G

etting creative is so much easier these days, as more companies are releasing stamp sets with matching dies. All you really need to decide upon is a colour scheme and then let the stamps do a lot of the work for you. Floral sets are great for their diversity, as you’ll see in this collection. Floral images can be used as a focal point of the design or can be added

24

as an accessory to the card. These stamps from Heartfelt Creations were a delight to use. The crisp, clear lines never failed – not something I can say about all the stamps I have in my stash! These beautiful images work fabulously on their own but the addition of the matching dies certainly takes them to another level for crafting. The dies from this floral set can give you so many different finished looks and in my

www.australiansimplycards.com.au

projects, I have shaped the petals using different methods and used different sizes and layering methods to create a range of looks. The fact that the stamped images match the dies perfectly means that you can create a really effective 3D look. You can stamp and die-cut around the image really accurately, giving a professional finish. In this collection, I’ve created projects for plenty of different

occasions. From difficult cards, such as sympathy designs, to fun friendship and birthday celebration creations. This really shows the diversity of these sets – there are no boundaries as to what they can be used for. A mixture of techniques has been used on these projects, so I hope my designs inspire you to find new ways of using these matching stamp and die sets from Heartfelt Creations. l
