Kitsap Transit Public Hearing

Kitsap Transit Public Hearing Kitsap Transit is proposing to temporarily site bus service during construction of the North Base and Park & Ride construction at a site on Viking previously used by Poulsbo RV for recreational vehicle sales. An anticipated increase in noise is expected due to the 15 minute warm up and cycling of the handicapped ramps prior to a bus leaving the site. There is a Public Hearing to discuss the application for the Kitsap Transit Motor Vehicle Noise Variance for the Kitsap Transit Temporary Bus Service Location Administrative Conditional Use Permit and Temporary Use Permit. The hearing is scheduled for January 13, 2015 at 7pm in the Poulsbo city Hall Council Chambers.

Year End Building Permit Statistics In 2014 the Building Department received 315 permits and performed over 2,487 inspections. Major projects that were reviewed and completed include the new CVS Pharmacy and Safeway. The City also saw construction of single family homes especially in the Caldart neighborhood. Revenues in 2014 yielded $164,269 in Plan Check reviews, $5,379 in Protective Inspection fees, and $270,091 in Building, Structure, and Equipment receipts. Actual revenues exceeded expected 2014 revenues.

Year End Zoning Permit Statistics. There were over 40 zoning permits applied for in 2014. This includes 4 Boundary Line Adjustments, 5 Minor Site Plan Reviews, 4 Short Plats, and 14 Preliminary Applications. Revenues in 2014 yielded $36,860 in Zoning and Subdivision receipts. Zoning and Subdivision revenues exceeded expected 2014 revenues by over $5,000.

Restaurants in Poulsbo In 2014, Taste Wei, a traditional Chinese restaurant, opened its doors to the public in the Olhava area. 2015 looks to bring a couple new restaurants to our area. Among them is Sonic which will be located on Viking Avenue. At the beginning of this year the Building Department also received plans for Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Dickey’s has applied to go into the space next to Big 5 in the Olhava development. Its Port Orchard location offers food like Texas Style Chopped Beef Brisket, Old Recipe Polish Sausage, and Jalapeno Beans.
