When
the designers of
Haute Stone tables came up with the idea for this exciting new business, they were sitting in a stone atelier looking around at all the left over pieces of~ marble, granite, onyx and dozens of other beautiful stones just laying on the floor. The idea for turning them into unique one of a kind tables was born in a flash of a light bulb. “There are always lots of pieces of stone left over after making countertops, fireplaces and stone installations. Sometimes they just stack up and after time we would discard the pieces just to make room in the factory – this was always heart breaking� says Karina Becker. The left over stone is now collected after a day of manufacturing, and a small design team collaborates on turning the pieces into bespoke tables. Unique bases and legs are either sourced or manufactured to complete the design. Whether it is a coffee, side, meditation, chess or dining table- each piece is designed and crafted in the stone atelier in Chicago and then added to the collection for sale. Haute Stone also works with Interior designers and decorators to custom make pieces to fit perfectly into their design environment.
