BY KELLY WICKHAM (kelly.wickham@sussexpost.co.uk)
ORGANISERS at the Weald and Downland Living Museum in Singleton held a special spring event over the bank holiday weekend.
The Food Festival showcased the very best of the south east’s produce – from heritage production methods to the modern day.

Gill Meller during a cooking demonstration
Visitors could enjoy free cookery demonstrations and short talks, shop from vendors selling local produce, watch demonstrations and crafts and learn about historic food and drink in the collection of rescued historic houses
This year, River Cottage’s Gill Meller took part in the Cookery Theatre for cooking demonstrations on the Saturday and Sunday.

He appears regularly on the popular Channel 4 series, cooking alongside Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, produces recipe videos for The River Cottage food tube channel and contributes to the acclaimed River Cottage cookbooks as well. Gill teaches at the River Cottage Cookery School.
