St. Cloud City Council votes against moving forward with Downtown security bollards
Citing a desire to avoid additional costs and lengthy intersection closures, St. Cloud’s City Council on Thursday decided against installing additional retractable bollards in the downtown Entertainment District.
Instead, Council directed City staff to attempt to sell the bollards the city already owns, or store them for future use at another location.
Bollards are strong, retractable posts used to prevent vehicles from entering specific areas, like St. Cloud’s downtown during special events.
The bollards were purchased as part of the phase 2 downtown revitalization project, but due to supply issues, the bollards did not arrive from overseas until much of the project was completed. To install them now would require as much as $1.8 million of additional funding, and would necessitate 40 weeks or more of intersection closures, according to Strategic Initiatives Project Manager David Bridle.

Osceola County High School athletes vie for track championships, spring football games this week
Although the school year is rapidly winding down, a lot of moving parts remain for the athletic programs in Osceola’s eight public high schools. Here is a rundown of what is happening this week in county high school sports:
BOY’S VOLLEYBALL
Coming off a dominating three-set sweep of Dr. Phillips (25-18, 25-17, 25-20), Celebration returns to action Tuesday night when they host Winter Garden’s Horizon Hawks in an FHSAA Regional Final on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the State Championship Tournament this weekend at Polk State College in Winter Haven. The Storm (20-9 this season) last advanced to the state tournament in 2019, when they defeated Apopka for the Regional Championship before bowing out to Archbishop McCarthy in 5-set quarterfinals – finishing their season with a 24-3 record. “On paper, we should be favored on Tuesday, but you never know in the playoffs,” Celebration coach Pedro Davila noted. “The most important thing will be to come out with intensity and establish our rhythm early.” You can read about Celebration’s big win against Dr. Phillips here (https://www.positivelyosceola.com/ celebration-storm-one-win-away-from-state-tournament-in-boys-volleyball)

Orlando Health: Tips for takeout: how to make healthier choices
We’re busy. We’re hungry. We don’t feel like cooking. More and more of us are relying on the convenience of takeout meals while also trying to eat healthy. Can we do both?
Fifty-four percent of adults say takeout and delivery is essential to their lifestyle — for millennials it’s 72 percent and 66 percent for Gen Z, a recent report shows. One-third of adults surveyed planned to increase their use of takeout. If you love the convenience but want to maintain a balanced diet, there’s good news: Restaurant managers are aware of both the uptick and consumers’ desire to eat healthier. So they’re generally more willing than ever to make modifications and share nutrition information.
It’s Your Choice
Sometimes it’s worth stating the obvious: No matter the cuisine, preparation or price point, these days most menus include healthy options. But it’s up to you to pick one. So when you’re sitting on the couch scrolling menus, remember the choice really is yours.

INJURY LAW
Draper Law: Even minor car accidents can cause back injuries, don’t wait to seek medical attention
Car accidents can happen in an instant. Even though these crashes happen quickly, recovery is not always quick and easy. A car accident can cause a variety of injuries, including back injuries. Even a minor crash can cause back injuries because the back tends to absorb most of the impact in an accident.
If you have suffered a back injury, seek prompt medical treatment. These injuries can be hard to treat, and sometimes can lead to secondary medical issues, such as hypotension, osteoporosis, pressure ulcers, sleep apnea, bowel problems, urinary tract infections, sexual dysfunction, and more. Draper Law Office understands how serious a back injury can be. These injuries can be long-lasting and costly to treat. Schedule a consultation by filling out the online form or by calling their office at (407) 846.0075.

FAMILY LAW
Draper Law: Showing positive parenting
When parents of minor children divorce, it can be several years before their involvement with the court will end. Ideally, both parties will abide by their thoughtfully created parenting agreement and make changes which support their children’s wellbeing. However, as time passes and circumstances change, it is not uncommon for parents to disagree about what is in the best interest of their kids. A parent may also claim the other does not have good parenting abilities and seek to make legal changes to the parenting plan. In this situation, the other parent may have to provide evidence of their positive parenting skills.
The Draper Law Office has attorneys who are experienced with helping clients with child custody and parenting time issues and can help. Call 407.846.0075 today or go to DraperLawOffice.com to set up your free, no-obligation consultation in one of their three locations: St. Cloud, Kissimmee, and Orlando.

HEALTH
Imran S. Farooq, MD, MSHA, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI Interventional Cardiology Orlando Health
Orlando Health: Hiking, biking, running, hight intensity excercises for heart health
Regular physical activity strengthens your muscles and joints, and it’s also key for heart health. Exercise helps your heart more efficiently pump blood and circulate oxygen, lowering your risk of cardiovascular conditions like heart failure and heart disease.
If you’re in good shape, highintensity activities such as hiking, biking and running can give your heart health a big boost. So get ready to lace up your sneakers, fill your tires or hit the trails.
Here are tips to safely make the most of your workout.
Hiking: Hitting the Trails Helps Your Heart
Hiking forces your heart to pump harder, particularly when you choose a route with an uneven trail or incline. The increased blood flow is essential to circulate nutrients and oxygen-rich blood to your muscles, especially your legs. There are mental health benefits, too. Hiking lowers your stress levels and improves your mental health, which is connected to heart health. Research shows that stress raises your blood pressure, increasing the risk of hypertension.
How to get the most from your hike: Join a hiking club or hike with a few friends to stay motivated. If you’re hiking a trail with a higher elevation, the more difficult it will be. As the altitude increases, your heart will pump blood harder to balance the decreased air pressure. If you’re just starting out, tackle shorter, gradual incline trails first.
Biking: Cycling Tops for Cardio Health
Biking is a lower-impact exercise that also can help you condition your heart. Many athletes who bike have lower resting heart rates. This means your heart is working optimally, since a lower resting rate means more blood is pumped with every contraction, maintaining an efficient heartbeat.
