NBA VOTES ORLANDO MAGIC INDIA DAY “BEST HERITAGE NIGHT IN THE NBA” TWO YEARS IN A ROW BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR MADHURI DIXIT COMING TO ORLANDO JANUARY 31, 2016

(Orlando, Florida) January 2, 2016 – The Indian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is leading Orlando’s official India Day Celebration in Downtown Orlando. This cultural tradition was officially recognized by Mayor Buddy Dyer as he proclaims January 31, 2016: INDIA DAY IN ORLANDO. The IACC has created a full line up of excitement showcasing the Indian culture and community with a street festival, fire-side chat with a renowned international humanitarian and a partnership with the Orlando Magic featuring in-game festivities during the Magic’s matchup with the Boston Celtics on Jan. 31. Key sponsors of the event include: The Orlando Magic, Amish and Beena M. Parikh Family Fund, PepsiCo, Orlando Health, Century Link, Emirates, New York Life, SunTrust Bank, Greenspoon Marder PA, BB&T and the Orlando Solar Bears. The IACC is hosting Madhuri Dixit, an award winning Bollywood actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, who will be the guest speaker at the IACC Fireside Chat entitled “Powerful Indian Women.” Madhuri will be interviewed by Dr. Beena Parikh, PHD from 2pm to 3pm, center-court at the Amway Center. The interview is open to sponsors, invited guests, as well as Orlando Magic game ticket holders for that evening’s Celtics game. “We are proud to partner with the Indian American Chamber of Commerce for the fourth consecutive year to host India Day Presented by Chase,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “Sports truly is a rallying point that can bring all people together and speak any language. A Cultural Street Fest will be held from 3:30pm to 6pm in front of the Amway Center, showcasing Indian cultural dancing from various local Indian organizations. Guests will also enjoy henna tattoos, sari wrapping, turban tying, free t-shirts and more. The event is FREE to the public and parking is available in nearby downtown lots. At 6:00 pm the Amway Center prepares for a sold out crowd, as the Boston Celtics take on the Orlando Magic in what the NBA has voted as the “Best Heritage Night in the NBA” two years in a row. The halftime show will feature entertainment by the Bollywood Dance Academy. The Orlando Magic Dancers have reformatted their normal routine to perform in traditional Bollywood style. The India Day Celebration is produced by a volunteer committee from the Indian American Chamber of Commerce led by Dr. Amish M.
