Nellie Hyatt Nellie I. (Wilson) Hyatt, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2013. She passed away at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She was born October 18, 1922 in Owensville the daughter of Rufus Doyle and Laura (Crabtree) Wilson son. Nellie married Dale O. Hyatt the love of her life, December 26, 1947. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Brenda and Linda. She was a homemaker and a very faithful and devoted Christian. She was a member and served as a Sunday school teacher and clerk at the Mt.TaborChurch for many years. One of life’s greatest pleasures to her was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She dearly loved being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Brenda (Scott) Lankford and Linda (Craig) Schafer; five grandchildren, Sally (Ryan) Martin, Kelly (Chad) Thompson, J.D. (Andi) Ice, Andrew (Jamie) Schafer and Kyle Schafer; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Elvis (Mary Lou) Wilson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Welker Wilson, Ellen Cooper, Anna Mae Riley and Mary Ruth Brown. Services were held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Griffin. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the funeral home. JC Egli On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, after 84 years of celebrating life on earth, JC Egli, has gone to spend eternity with his Lord. JC found joy and wonder in the outdoors and enjoyed sharing his passion with family and friends. Whether it was a simple walk through the streets of New Harmony or a hike through the mountains, he found happiness in the beauty that surrounded him. He lived a life that combined strength and grace and will continue to be an inspiration to those who knew and loved him. First and foremost JC was a devout husband, wonderful father and inspiring grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and champion for many, many just causes. During his lifetime, JC also attended Centennial Elementary School and graduated from Reitz High School. He attended Evansville College and completed the Dale Carnegie Business Course. JC retired from Mead Johnson after 38 years of dedicated service. In retirement JC enjoyed working at Clearcrest Pines Golf Course in the pro shop with many other former Mead Johnson colleagues. He is living on through his wife of 63 years, Bernie, his four sons and daughters-in-law Stan and Becky, Mark and Jenny, Craig and Lauri, and Gary as well as 14 grandchildren Heather, Andrea, Brad, Scott, Bryan, Kevin, Holly, Mindy, Sara, Katie, Seth, Sean, Megan and Jamie, 23 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Pearl C. Overton Pearl Catherine (Wilsey) Overton, 94, born October 20, 1918 in New Harmony, Indiana to Leslie and Stella (Wheeler) Wilsey, passed peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony, Indiana. Pearls’ favorite past time was cooking for her family, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Any Sunday afternoon you could find her holding at least one of her loving babies and enjoying the rest. Pearl was married to Harold Overton and they made their home in rural Griffin, Indiana. Harold passed away on April 23, 1997. They were blessed with four children: Kenneth (Donna) Overton of New Harmony, Indiana, Marilyn (Dean) Straw of Johnson, Indiana, Carolyn (Eddie) Martin of Griffin, Indiana and Galen “Putt” (Maddy) Overton of Poseyville, Indiana. Pearl is also survived by nine grandchildren: Randy (Norma) Straw, Tommy (Georgie) Straw, Karla Goodson, Diana (Donnie) Mathews, Kathy (Matthew) Hoehn, Scott (Kim) Martin, Shelly Martin, Gena (Justin) Morgan and Jeremy (Tara) Overton; 19 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and one brother: Charles Wilsey. The family wishes to thank the staff of New Harmonie Healthcare and the staff of Vista Care Hospice for their loving support and care of Pearl. Pearl was a member of the Griffin Christian Church. She was a very faithful wife, mother, grandmother and motherin-law. She loved her flowers and enjoyed a garden. She was a very humble and loving lady, who will be greatly missed by her faithful family. Evelyn E. Nottingham, 95, of Poseyville, Ind., born to Olaf and Lela (Creek) Almon on February 8, 1918, in Gibson County near Poseyville, Ind., passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Owensville Convalescent Center in Owensville, Ind. She graduated from Stew Stewartsville High School in 1936 and was a polio survivor from which she contracted the disease at the age of 30. She was a member of the Black River General Baptist Church until its’ closing and was its’ secretary for 16 years. She was also a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Poseyville, Ind. She enjoyed quilting and her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Surviving are her children: John (Mickey) Nottingham, Nancy (Don) Straw and Steven (Maggie) Nottingham all of Poseyville, Ind.; daughter-in-law Becky Nottingham of Poseyville, Ind.; sisters: Alma Ruth Kincheloe of Poseyville, Ind., and Mary Frances Crowe of Ocala, Fla.; ten grandchildren: Sayelle (Don) Rexing of Evansville, Ind., Justin (Jenn) Nottingham of Mount Pleasant, Mich., Megan (Lucas) Rosbottom of Avon, Ind., Tom (Teresa) Nottingham of Jasper, Ind., Scott (Lori) Nottingham of Evansville, Ind., Andy Nottingham of Poseyville, Ind., Rodney (Rhealynn) Straw of Poseyville, Ind., Tonya (Tim) Dike of Owensville, Ind., Nicholas Nottingham of Poseyville, Ind., and Natalie Nottingham, also of Poseyville, Ind. Clifford W. (Dick) Nelson, a former resident of Posey County, Ind., died April 19, 2013, at Vintage Silver Creek Nursing home in San Jose, Calif., after an illness of a couple of months. Cliff was the son of Helen (Curtis) and Golston Nelson. He was a graduate with the Class of 1938 New Harmony High Scool and also a graduate of the University of of Arkansas. He was a teacher with the Mount Vernon School for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth and two sons; Jeremiah of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Stephen (Lolo) of McCall, Idaho, and one daughter, Roxanne (David) of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister, Jeanne Garret of Boise, Idaho, and numerous neices and nephews. He will be forever remembered with affection by his family and a host of friends. There will be a memorial service on June 29 in Gardnerville, Nev.
