OBITUARIES Bobbie Gene Russell Wolfe, 79, passed away on March 11, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. He was born in Posey County, Ind., on September 23, 1933, to Peter and Carrie (Russell) Wolfe. Bobbie Gene retired in 1995 after over 36 years of service with ADM Milling. In his earlier years he worked at Conyers Oil Well Service. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening, fishing, and cutting firewood. He is preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Bobbie Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Joyce (Miles) Wolfe; their five children, Marcy (Ronnie) Becker; Ava Santoro, Curt (Tamyra) Wolfe, Kerry (Fiancé, Becky) Wolfe, Carol (Tim) Dean; grandchildren, Jeff Jones, Brad Becker, Greg Wagner, Kara Schmitt, Kelsie Kemmerling, Kristin and Kassidy Wolfe; Hope and Amber Dean; and eight great grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Schneider Funeral Home, located at 512 Main St. in Mount Vernon with burial in Old Beech Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Deaconess Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Hattie Lena Sharber, 77, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville. She was born on May 28, 1935 in Rayford, N.C. to Peter and Effie (Simpson) Lamm. Hattie was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #5. She had worked at the Exylon Factory and also cooked at the Smorgasboard. Hattie dearly loved her family. She was especially fond of her grandchildren as well as the other children in the neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Sharber; sisters, Louise Jones, Normah Spivey, Lilly Olive, and Virginia Lee, and a so-in-law, Rollie Moss. Hattie is survived by her daughter, Faye Moss of Kingsport, Tenn.; sons, David Sharber (Linda), Robert Sharber (Jennifer), and Paul Sharber (Marsha) all of Mount Vernon; sister, Mary Bogan of Sanford, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St. in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating with burial to follow in Weiss Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the funeral home. Jeffrey Neuffer Jeffrey W. Neuffer, 55, of New Harmony, Ind., born to Jacob, Sr. and Patricia (Cardin) Neuffer on August 5, 1957, in Evansville, Ind., passed away Wed., March 6, 2013, at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony, Ind. He is survived by his parents; three brothers: Jake (Beth), Brett (Lisa), and Jim Neuffer all of New Harmony. . There will be no visitation or funeral services. Ruth H. Johnson Ruth H. Johnson, 96, of Lake Geneva, Wisc., formerly of Evansville, Ind., born January 5, 1917, to Robert and Martha (Anderson) Harper in McLeansboro, Illinois, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Arbor Village in Lake Geneva, Wisc. She was united in marriage to John A. Johnson on June 4, 1943, in the Episcopal Church in Oakland, Calif., and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2000. She was formerly an employee of Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Evansville, Ind., from 1937 to 1949 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Evansville, Ind. Surviving are her sons: Brian (Marilyn) Johnson of Elkhorn, Wisc., and Alan (Louise) Johnson of Morristown, N.J.; four grandchildren: Tim Johnson, Erin Johnson, Veronica Johnson and Amy Johnson; three nephews: Gerald DeRoussl of Sparta, Ill., and Robert and Thomas Harper of Valpariso, Ind. Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters and 2 brothers. Services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Poseyville Cemetery in Poseyville, Ind. Visitation will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Steinke Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, Wisc., and from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Ind. Judy Fisher Judy Fisher, 72, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. She was born on May 22, 1940, in Poseyville, Ind., to George and Pauline (Stallings) Seib. Judy was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She worked as the Office Manager for over 30 years with Drs. John and Gordon Vogel, Dr. Matthew Lee, Dr. Kyle Rapp, Dr. William Sutton, and Dr. James Rice. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations, especially Clearwater, Fla., where she could visit the ocean. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R. “Gary” Fisher in 1991; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Padgett. Judy is survived by her daughter, Julie Fisher; son, Jay (Tammy) Fisher; grandchildren, Andrew, Jena, and Gary; and niece, Jill Padgett. Funeral mass was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 421 Mulberry St., in Mount Vernon with Fr. James Sauer officiating and burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Poseyville. Visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St. in Mount Vernon and continued on Monday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Jacob Neuffer, Sr. Jacob W. Neuffer, Sr., 82, of New Harmony, Indiana, died at his residence on Friday, March 15, 2013. Jake was born on May 22, 1930 to Jacob Henry and Margaret Egan Neuffer. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a Korean War veteran. He will be missed dearly by his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Clara Wade, Laura-mae Shaw and Bonnie Neuffer, his brother Jerry Neuffer and a son Jeffrey Neuffer. Jake is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Cardin Neuffer, sons, Jacob Neuffer, Jr., Jim Neuffer, and Brett Neuffer all of New Harmony, grandsons, Jason, Lucas and Cody Neuffer, granddaughters, Jill Rager and Sara Neuffer and three great granddaughters, Ella and Olivia Neuffer and Piper Rager. George S. Breeze, 96, of Sanford, Florida, passed away on March 12, 2013, at his home surround by his family. He was born in Mount Vernon, Ind., on December 13, 1916. George was a wonderful teacher and story teller, and he was loved by all. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berneice Breeze, and only son, Richard L. Breeze. Viewing was held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. Graveside services followed at 1 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery in Sanford, Fla.

Gary L. Cawthon, 73, of Brandenburg, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at University of Louisville Hospital. Gary was born July 22, 1939 in Eldorado, Ill., to the late Douglas William “D.W.” and Julia Belt Cawthon. Gary was a 20-year Veteran of the US Navy. The highlight of his Naval service was being stationed at Palmer Station, Antarctica, for over one year. Gary loved nature, watching and feeding the birds and animals, gardening, and he loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Washington Redskins football teams. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Charles Cawthon. He is survived by his wife, Lynda R. Wingo Cawthon of Brandenburg; daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Hill of Sherman, Texas; son, Mike (Lena) Cawthon of Pekin, Ind.; sister, Betty Graham of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Maria, Peyton, Chelsea and Ryan; sisters-in-law, Deloris “Dode” Cawthon of Portland, Maine and Clara “Daisy” Cawthon of Statesville, N.C.; three great-grandchildren; four nieces; and his dog, Sophie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. EDT from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.
