FEBRUARY 11, 2020 Anita F. Goff Anita F. Goff, 59, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away Monday February 3, 2020 at West River Health Campus. She was born August 17, 1960 in Chicago, the daughter of Wilfred and Martha “Dean” (Nelson) Nobles. She married James Goff on June 8, 2002. Anita worked at Whirlpool until it closed. Along with her parents she managed, “Deans Diner” for many years. She and her daughter both loved to bowl and did leagues together. She enjoyed playing cards, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandson, Blayke. She attended Point Township of the Nazarene Church. She is survived by her husband, James; her daughter, Sarah Jameson; her grandson, Blayke Reeley; and her parents, Wilfred and Dean Nobles. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilfred “Jerry” Nobles.

Funeral services were held at Noon on Thursday February 6, 2020 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 East Fourth Street, Mount Vernon, Ind., with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Dr. Jerry Like Dr. Jerry Like of Elberfeld, Ind., peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 2, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born to Boyd and Betty Like (deceased) on March 28, 1935 in rural Monroe City, Indiana. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Georgialee (McCoy) Like; children Tony Like and Elizabeth “Luann” (David) Perry; and four grandchildren Nichole, Brianna, Danielle and Kyle Perry. He is survived by his extended family: Ron Like, Kay Friedmann, Butch Like (deceased), Nancy Gines, Steve Like, Tom Thompson and others he included as family. Dr. Like was a graduate of Monroe City High School, Purdue University and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced family medicine in Elberfeld for 56 years, including some years in Monroe City. Friends visited in Elberfeld at the New Jerusalem United Methodist Church, where he was a member, on Thursday, February 6 from 4 - 7 p.m. Central Time.

Friends visited in Vincennes at the Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home on Friday, February 7 from 5 - 8 p.m. The funeral was held at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home in Vincennes on Saturday, February 8, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Elberfeld, The Monroe City Blue Jeans Community Center, Chemo Buddies or the charity of your choice that would honor Dr. Like. He will be remembered by his love for family, farming and serving others as a doctor. Much can be said but let the work he has done speak for him.

William E. Snelling William (Bill) E. Snelling, 66, of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Bill was born on February 5, 1953 the son of Clarence Snelling and Eara (Shoemake) Goodman. Bill was a groundskeeper for Hamilton’s Golf Course for many years. He was often seen riding his motorcycle which was one of his greatest joys in life. Bill is survived by his significant other, Paula Adam; sons, Andy Snelling, Michael Littledog, Gary Wayne Snelling, W. Jason Littledog; daughter Jennifer Martin; grandchildren Tasha, Harley, Michael, Josh, Xander, Aydan, and Cameron; sister, Peggy Spellman. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tom Goodman, Gary Snelling, Danny Ward; and sister, Sue Snelling-Woolsey. Funeral services were held at Noon on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Rev.

John Motz officiating. Burial in Blacks Cemetery followed. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Paula Diane Etheridge Paula Diane (Breeze) Etheridge, 74, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Braun Nursing Home in Evansville, Indiana. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ind., on November 2, 1945 to the late Marvin and Martha J. (Moye) Breeze. Paula was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She worked for the Posey County Ambulance service and was elected Posey County Clerk for two terms. Paula enjoyed listening to country music, traveling, attending the West Side Nut Club Fall Festivals and was a Notre Dame fan. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Breeze. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Bauer (Buddy); sister, Donna Holder (Tom); two grandsons, Nick Funkhouser and Mike Funkhouser (Heather); great-

grandson, Aiden. Additionally, she is survived by her step-granddaughter, Cathy Kacsuta (Gill) and her greatgranddaughters, Addison and Ava. There were many special people in her life including the employees and residents at Braun’s Rehab. A private family service will be held at a later date. Clinton Arnold Robertson Clint was born on August 4, 1948 in Welborn Hospital, Evansville, Ind., to Wilbur Ewing and Margaret Theresa (Hart) Robertson. He graduated in 1966 from Boonville High School, Boonville, Ind. Clint married Carolyn Anne Knight on July 11, 1969 at Main Street Methodist Church in Boonville. They had two sons: Thomas Christian “Tom” on May 16, 1973, and Clinton Matthew “Matt” on May 1, 1980. Clint and Anne lived in Mount Vernon, Ind., for many years. He attended University of Evansville and Purdue University before beginning his career in drafting at Babcock-Wilcox in Mount Vernon. Progressing to a manufacturing engineer for that company, he helped build nuclear reactors for the Navy and solid rocket boosters for NASA. Later, he worked as an engineer for Rolls Royce helping build the F22 Fighter Jet in the 1990s. He also traveled to various nuclear power plants to help upgrade their nuclear reactors until he retired in 2013. While in Boonville, he was a member of the Strangers Rest Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Hemenway Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was active in Boy Scouts in Boonville and continued this as a Scout Master in Mount Vernon, taking his troop to camp and wilderness trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He led scouts on hikes on the Appalachian Trail, and he also trained other Scout Masters in leadership skills. He enjoyed fishing, music, reading, movies, trap and target shooting, camping, collecting coins, and rock climbing and rappel-

ling. A quote he often used was “Another day in Paradise.” Clint passed on February 9, 2020 as a result of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and stage four Melanoma at Westminster Health Care Center in Clarksville, Ienn. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at Westminster, and the nurses and care coordinators of Kindred Hospice, for their care of Clint in his final days, as well as his oncologist, Dr. Anthony Stephens of Evansville, and Dr. Matthew Lee of Mount Vernon who always made himself available to the family. Clint is survived by his wife Anne; his sons, Tom and Matt Robertson of Otisco and Charlestown, Ind.; his sister Kay Anne (Ron) Peake of Holland, Ind.; his brothers-in-law Sam (Vicki) Knight, and Jack (Tanya) Knight, both of Charlestown; nieces and nephews; cousins, and friends. Clint requested cremation, which was arranged by Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Ind. Patti A. Goodwin Patti A. Goodwin, 61, of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at her home. Patti was born on November 4, 1958 in Evansville, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Bulla) Patrick. She was married to Marvin Goodwin and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2010. Patti was a homemaker who loved being able to take care of her beloved children. She loved to go out shopping. Besides her family, she had a special place in her heart for her two faithful dogs, Bud and Louie. Patti is survived by her children, Randy Goodwin, Tiffany Patrick, Holly (Richard) Bradley, Keith (Lowey) Goodwin, and Tracy (David) Goldman and their son, Andrew; 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Marvin, a brother and sister.

Argiree L. Hyatt, 94, of Newburgh, Indiana, formerly of Haubstadt, Indiana, born to James and Senie (Bryant) O’Rear on August 16, 1925, in Emory, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab in Newburgh, Indiana. She worked for Douglass Aircraft during WWII and Emge Packing Company in Fort Branch, Indiana. She is survived by her son: Roger (Melinda “Bodie”) Hyatt of Newburgh, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Sidney “Jack” Hyatt in 2007; brothers: Edward Lee, Charles Alvin and James Curtis O’Rear and sisters: Katie Pearl Cantrell, Betty Louise Baker and Martha Helen Tidwell. Private services were

Marion L. Shuler Marion L. Shuler, 68, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away February 8, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born December 29, 1951 to the late Henry and Elka Lee (Sturm) Shuler. Marion was a 1970 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from ISUE in 1974. Marion retired after 33 years of service as an operator at General Electric. He enjoyed attending Mount Vernon football and basketball games and was a season ticketholder at USI for over 30 years. Marion was an avid University of Georgia football fan, as well as a New York Yankees fan. He was a fifth-degree blackbelt in karate. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Shuler (Jill Logsdon); son, Andrew Shuler; sister Anne Byrom
