OBITUARIES Bobby Willis Bobby Dale Willis, 74, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away October 8, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital after a four-year battle with cancer. He was born September 5, 1942 to the late Homer and Louise (Bray) Willis. B bb graduated d t d from f Bobby Mount Vernon High School in 1960. He spent most of his career selling vehicles at Frank Moll Motor Company, Art Hall Motor Company and Weintraut Motors. Bobby was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, USI Basketball and IU Basketball. His life revolved around his family and especially the grandchildren’s sporting events. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Sherry (Topper); daughters, Cheryl Reich (Brian Bishop) and Tonia (Scot) Keller; brother, John; sisters, Bonnie Bergstrom and Pam (Ron) Bennett; grandchildren, Brittany Reich (Scott Lewis), Samantha (Andrew) Koch, Noah, Hannah, Micah and Kennah Keller; great-grandchildren, Alissa Lewis, Jace and McKenzie Koch; niece and nephew, Tamara and Brian (Shanna) Bergstrom. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, Ind., with burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at the funeral home. Martha Ellen (Walker) Gerth, 93, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away October 6, 2016 at Solarbron. She was born February 21, 1923 in Posey County, Ind., to Loren and Nell (York) Walker. Martha graduated from M t Vernon V Hi h School S h Mount High in 1940. She was a member of Mount Vernon General Baptist Church. Martha enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Willard Gerth; son, Scott Gerth; brother, Gerald Walker; and sister, Ruby Meeks. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene (Eddie) McConnell and Beverly (Norris) Suits; daughter-inlaw, Susan Gerth; grandchildren, Christina Nellis, Angela Baker, Brent Suits and Shane Suits; greatgrandchildren, Chloey, Olivia, Brody, Aryan, Aarik, Andrew, Dirk, Mason, and Maddox; and one greatgreat-grandchild, Hensleigh. Funeral service were held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, Ind., with Rev. Cheryl Phillips Cheryl Lynn Phillips, 57, of Mount Vernon, passed away at her home on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was born on August 22, 1959 in South Dakota, the daughter of Thomas Fredrick and Barbara Ann (Miles) Fischer. She mari d Rodney R d A. She is survived by son, Ryan Phillips (Janetta Wolz) of Mount Vernon; daughter, Andrea (Sarah) Phillips; two grandsons, Isaiah and Ian; her mother, Barbara Ann Fisher of Evansville; brothers, Tom Fischer of Boonville and Scott Fischer of Newburgh; sister Christina Freels of Vacaville, Ca. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Lynn Angermeier Lynn Edward Angermeier, 65 of Owensville and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday evening October 6, 2016 at St. Marys Hospital in Evansville. He was born November 18, 1950 in Evansville, the D l and dR th (B h son off Dale Ruth (Behme) Angermeier. Lynn worked as a Boilermaker. He was a member of Brother in Teak, Lessing Lodge 464 and the Hadi Shrine Color Guard and Motor Pool. Lynn was well known as a wild and crazy guy. He is survived by his mother, Ruth; brothers and sisters, David, Stephen, Francis, Phillip, Walter (Judy), Thomas, Henry (Tara) Angermeier, and Theresa Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday October 15, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. on Friday October 14, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 East Fourth Street, Mount Vernon. The Hadi Shrine will hold a memorial service at 6 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m until time to leave for the cemetery on Saturday. Martin ‘Marty’ Byrd II, 67, of Wadesville, Ind., passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, near Glenwood, Iowa. He was doing what he loved, returning from a cross country delivery, when he was detoured for a much bigti H b J ger trip. He was born June 6, 1949, to the late Martin F. and G. Juanita (Weatherford) Byrd. Marty was a lifelong baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and coached Little League and Pony League teams for St. Wendel for many years. His love for clabber and poker games were a close second to his baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Stokes; and brother, Kenny Byrd. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lucinda ‘Cindy’ (Boberg); children, Angela Byrd (Mike Schmitt) and Clint Byrd (Nathan Cicardi), all of Wadesville, Ind.; sisters, Joyce Budesheim of Harrisburg, Pa., and Phyllis McGovern of Waterloo, Iowa; and special aunt, Una Kuhn, of Mount Vernon, Ind. Evelyn Marie Sherretz, 75, of Poseyville, Indiana, born to George and Helen (Stringer) Wildridge on February 2, 1941, in Washington, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the Heritage Center in Evansville, Indiana. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for 40 years and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, Indiana. Surviving are her husband: John K. Sherretz; two sons: Trent (Deanna) Sherretz of Poseyville, Indiana and Josh (Gayle) Sherretz of St. Wendel, Indiana; one brother: Steven (Connie) Wildridge of Freelandville, Indiana; one sister: Michele Wildridge of Poseyville, Indiana; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and a daughter: Ardith ‘Ardie’ Ann Jordan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 5301 Daylight Drive, Evansville, Indiana with burial in St. John the Evangelist Parish Catholic Church Cemetery. Claude Tilden Durell, 75, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away October 4, 2016 at his home. He was born August 6, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Ind., to William ‘Kenny’ and L. Aleeta (Robbins) Durell. Claude was a 1960 gradt off Mount M t Vernon V Hi h School and a veteran of the uate High U.S. Navy. He worked for GAF Corporation for 22 years. Claude was a member of Mount Vernon General Baptist Church, SIAM Club, and the Keck Gonnerman Antique Association. He enjoyed working on his tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 30 years, Carol (Reynolds) Durell; and sister, Letta May. He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Durell and Juanita Winkler; son, Tony Roth; grandchildren, Brook Hicks, Matthew Roth, Amber Miles, and Kenny Durell; great-grandchildren, Ryan Hicks, Nevaeh and Abbie Cheshire; and sister, Anna Grove.
