The Maine chapter [See “Green Book, Maine Edition,” July/ August 2019]…A wonderful article. I’m glad we had a chance to exchange [information] and you included Norma’s experience–which you did beautifully–and Rock Rest, with Valerie Cunningham’s on-themark comments. Interestingly and historically, a prime force and the director of the USO Center was David A. Dickson, Obama Security Advisor Susan Rice’s grandfather. [Just a note]–the Eastport Historical Society [should be] The Border Historical Society in Eastport. H.H. Price, Portland I really enjoyed the articles in [July/August 2019], including the one on the Green Book and the German [U-Boat] prisoners. You know, Virginia Beach had German prisoners at Thalia. Pam Kloeppel, Portsmouth, VA Subtext The U-Boat article [see “The Former Enemy Below,” July/August 2019] is a lot of fun to read, particularly with your family connection woven in. Daniel Zilkha, Sabre Yachts, South Casco New Digs The November 2018 issue carried an article [“Wild Olive”] about a bungalow for sale near Lakewood Theater. I have purchased that property!
