‘We’ve driven around Australia, how about we drive around the world?’ And with this one fanciful remark, the seeds were sown for what would become a worldwide adventure for one Melbourne family. Fuelled by itchy feet and a profound desire to expand their family’s horizons, after five years of meticulous planning and seemingly endless vaccinations, Danny and Sandra packed their two kids, Maddy and Raffy, into their 4WD and headed off on their ‘Big Trip’. Over the next 360 days and more than 36,000kms, this ordinary family undertook a truly extraordinary expedition, circumnavigating the globe and taking in experiences, both profound and everyday, which would prove to be life‐changing. Based on the blog that the family kept while on the road, Drive Around the World is a touching, at times hilarious and genuinely unique account of their journey. Filled with tales of the unexpected, close calls and boundless adventure, it’s a book that the whole family can enjoy and be inspired by.

However, his subsequent work with some automotive executives who 'managed by fear', and his association with strong leaders like Premier Jeff Kennett, Archbishop Pell and media tycoons including Rupert Murdoch and Kerry Packer, gave him the strength to hold his ground when necessary.

The country is emerging from its isolation and finally joining the 21st Century in what has been described as “the Burmese spring.” This revolution is being felt most particularly in the former capital Yangon, once was Rangoon. There is at last the prospect of an end to decades of neglect and decay. However this brave new world spells uncertainty for the future of not only the unique collection of colonial heritage buildings that have miraculously survived, but also for other aspects of a the city where the national costume is worn by most of the population, the women and children have a creamy paste called “thanaka” smeared on their faces and the world’s oldest buses converted from World War Two army trucks are still in service. These new images capture that moment in time… ...before everything changes. Words and photographs by Kim Buddee, once was an architect.

"Love is something unpredictable and has the power to muddle your whole life within minutes – especially when the beloved one is not a human but a continent." That is what happened to the author fifteen years ago when she fell in love with Australia. But how doyou confess your love to a country? A candlelit dinner? Red Roses? That's not going to work. A love letter? Not long enough. So she decided to write a book ‐ a 184 page long declaration of love in which she takes the reader on a journey across Australia, revealing in good humour the wonders, secrets and oddities of this continent through the eyes of a European. However the unusual title mightalready suggest that there is more to t he story. Since Janine was born in Germany and still resides there, the book is also part of an extraordinary migration strategy ‐ a strategy that will only work if the reader plays along .…..

Former financial planner and radio presenter Kim Stedman has experienced the highs and lows of finance. He says, ‘I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor, and I know which I would rather be’. In this no nonsense approach, Kim speaks from a wealth of both knowledge and experience on the thinking and actions behind achieving the peace of financial freedom.

"Everyone intrigued by the verve of Dorothy Porter's life and work will love this book. The Monkey's Mask: Film, Poetry and the Female Voice is alive with responsiveness to both poetry and film, bringing the two into a rich, informed dialogue. Rebecca Louise introduces readers to Porter, the woman and the poet; to the fated and gutsy characters in her celebrated verse novel, The Monkey's Mask; and to Samantha Lang's sexy film adaptation. It's an astute, illuminating book, daring to seek a wide audience without sacrificing depth and reach. Exactly like Dorothy Porter and the ebullient legacy she left us." Even Before Publishing

Few poets have explored the weight and wonder of fatherhood like Andrew Lansdown. Over the years he has established a high reputation for his subtle, insightful poems about his wife and children. Acclaimed poet and critic Geoff Page has observed that 'Lansdown has a very sincere and direct way of handling poems about his immediate family which subtly suggests great tenderness without becoming sentimental.' Now, for the first time, Andrew's widely‐published, award‐wining poems celebrating family life are gathered in one collection, Gestures of Love. These fatherhood poems are bound to delight and move all readers‐not only parents, but also anyone interested in the joy, grief and quirkiness of the human condition.

'Many of Andrew Lansdown's poems have the power to bless, to unsettle now with mysterious calm, now with the deep resonance of poetry. Of all

Australian imagists, he is the one with the broadest and warmest human sympathy, and no one writes of family love with more tenderness than he.' Les Murray

The Tobacco Barons is Chrisse Feros’ account of the unforgiving and barbarous pursuit for power between two dynasties of entrepreneurs for control of tobacco in the islands of Sumatra and Singapore in the 1930s. The brutal underworld of the tobacco trade during the recession years of the 1930s in the orient is the setting for this epic story, which recounts the conquests and tragedies of tobacco baron Jack Rothsfield, who commands business deals for his American family. Arch‐rival British tycoon James Hindsmith would do everything in his power to break Jack’s stranglehold and overtake his plantations. James’ daughter, Justiana, endeavors to save her mother’s plantation assets from malicious payback attacks by impenetrable factions of the Chinese triads, whilst becoming embroiled with the Rothsfields. The lives of Jack’s family become vulnerable to acts of murder and brutality by warring Chinese lords, escalating into a violent and unforgettable tobacco war. Jack would suffer betrayal, deal opium, befriend pushers, rebel guerillas and the mafia to get to where he wanted. The Tobacco Barons is an unrelenting and highly sophisticated narrative which unveils the might of the Chinese Ganglords and their alliances, following acts of corruption across the islands. It is a gripping account of a heroic vision, a search for solace, and a fight for supremacy over the trade of this powerful and addictive drug.

The filthy back streets of London's East End in the Victorian era were home to every imaginable crime, vice and horror. Many thousands lived there without Christ and without hope, and no one seemed to care. But William Booth did care. In 1865 Booth began a mission which took the Gospel to these people. It became The Salvation Army and changed the lives of many thousands as it spread throughout London, Britain and the world, preaching a Gospel of redemption and holiness. New edition of previously published biography by one of the foremost authorities on William Booth and the beginning of The Salvation Army. About the Author David Malcolm Bennett is a multipublished author and evangelical theologian, who has the gift of doing thorough and painstaking research and presenting the results in a readable form.

Some people live their lives to the end and they do not know and realise what life is all about. There are so many opinions and competing theories to the meaning of life but what is actually the meaning of life? Is there such thing as the meaning of life? When people are lost, why do they soul searching and try to find some answers and meanings to their lives? Do truth and reality exist? Philosophy is much more than a subject, it should be an integral part of life. Philosophy is to identify truth, good, and meaning in life and can guide us to a good life. A good life is what we all desire. To live a good life, we need to know and understand the way to a good life in order for us to move on to the right path of life. Philosophy is about life and life is about philosophy.

This book celebrates and records a way of life that's been slowly disappearing. Month by month, it details the changing seasons and the activities that take place in the vineyard and olive grove, in the cellar (where wine and olive oil are produced), and in the kitchen. Words like 'Slow', 'Real' and 'Honest' describe the food people say they want, in contrast to what they feel they normally get. That is why for many people growing your own food has become important again. PUBLICITY ‐Burkes Backyard magazine will review in Feb issue. ‐Review in Organic Gardening (the ABC's magazine)

Who did the Iddly Widdly Piddly Pop‐off? What do you do with an Iddly Widdly Piddly Pop‐off and then how do you get rid of the Iddly Widdly Piddly Pop‐off?

What is an iddly widdly fiddly poo? How do you get rid of an iddly widdly fiddly poo? Who did do the iddly widdly fiddly poo? Find the answers to all of these questions in this very smelly and amusing tale of the poo that tried to get away! After many nights sketching, colouring, erasing, re‐sketching and editing I have created the rather silly story called 'The Iddly Widdly Fiddly Poo'. Yes, it is about poo ‐ and then I added a rocket, a Splatterator and a cute little cat to bring it to life!

The second title in this hilarious series from author and illustrator Daniel Corcoran, follows the antics of some barnyard friends when they are faced with an uninvited guest who invades the barn in the dead of the night. After the success of 'The Iddly Widdly Fiddly Poo!', Daniel could not wait to embark on another project that touches on a topic that is universally amusing to both kids and adults of all ages. "The kids demanded I write this book," laughs Corcoran, "and we had a lot of fun doing it which is what this book is really all about."

With this book I am also proud to be able to support the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne through the Elise Foundation. I have donated 100% of my proceeds from a quantity of books that I hope will help to provide valuable funds for the hospital. I hope the book will also provide some laughs along the way!

Thirteen year old Erin loves horses, but thinks history is boring until her mystical opal helps her drift into a dream to follow the misadventures of Fayina, a girl of similar age from a fierce, nomadic, horse riding tribe from the Bronze Age in 3000BC. Fayina is lost on the Eurasian Steppe. Strangers from another tribe, Arima and his sister Mia find her and take her to their secret village. Their tribe is wary of her and threaten her with banishment, unless she can teach the village people some of her horse and riding knowledge. Can Fayina save herself and return to her own people?

Pictures of familiar people and objects will work best when using this book to teach the alphabet. Our illustrations mainly begin with short sounds. In early learning, it helps initially to use either the short sounds only (a for apple) or the long sounds only (a for ape), to avoid confusion. With repetition and progression, the child will eventually associate the pictures with the letters and will understand that most letters have more than one sound. As your child progresses, teach them to say the name of the letter and then the sounds illustrated. Then the actual names of each letter of the alphabet will be learned.
