Transportation to and from Poly Prep is available through DiMino Bus Service, Inc., 1040 Rockaway Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11236. DiMino Bus Service, Inc., a family-owned and operated company, has provided safe and reliable bus service for Poly Prep students for over 25 years.
Our Safety Guidelines All vans are equipped with two-way radios and seatbelts. Each van is inspected by the New York City Department of Transportation. All bus drivers are approved by the New York City Board of Education.
Transportation costs are in addition to camp fees. Upon receipt of a completed application and full payment, DiMino Bus Service, Inc., will e-mail you a confirmtion receipt. Please note that neither a cancelled check nor the e-mail constitutes a confirmed seat for your child. Service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and is only available in areas of sufficient interest. Demand for transportation has increased, so we suggest early enrollment. Registration forms received after deadlines will not be accepted.
If your child will be absent from camp for any period of time, please provide the driver, as well as the camp, with a note detailing the days your child will not need service. If it is an unexpected absence, please call dispatch as early as possible with your driver’s name and your child’s name. The dispatcher will then alert the driver.
Service is provided on a round-trip basis only. Discounts and refunds are not supplied if a child is absent or uses the service for one way only.
The DiMino Staff will be working on the bus routes through the Wednesday before the beginning of camp. This allows the staff to make any last minute adjustments due to construction and minimize the amount of time your child will be on the bus. You will receive a phone call or email from the DiMino Staff on the Wednesday or Thursday before camp begins with full details of your child’s transportation to and from camp.
Summer Experience and Performing Arts Camps
Specialty Camp Bus Service
Summer Experience Day Camp and Performing Arts Camp service will continue to offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off as well as an option for designated stop service in a selected area of Brooklyn.
Designated stop service We offer designated stop service during the weeks of June 16, June 23, August 11, and August 18.
Door-to-door service is offered to Lower Manhattan (below Canal Street) and most parts of Brooklyn. Specific areas will be added as determined by interest. Brooklyn door-to-door service: $775 per child Manhattan door-to-door service: $825 per child.
(No service is available for the week of August 4 for Tech Camp.) Brooklyn Service costs $225 per child per week. Manhattan service costs $250 per child per week. Designated stop service will be available in the DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Park Slope areas at a discounted rate. Designated stop service: $675 per child.*
