A university collaboration between Oxford, Cambridge and London Polo Clubs co-hosted by Natascha Hedegaard, Heather Winsor and Ben Lawrence kicked off the academic and university polo seasons in style. A Mayfair location brought together over 70 students from both the UK and USA as well as Club sponsors La Martina to enjoy a drinks reception, followed by more inter-club mingling on the dancefloor in the basement location. World’s Biggest Coffee Morning; Guards Polo Club; Friday 30 September
Let Them Eat Cake The Clubhouse doors were thrown open to everyone as part of the Macmillan cancer support charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. This is the fifth year that the Club has taken part in this national event and 2016 saw the team raise a staggering £721 in just a couple of hours. In addition to delicious cakes and coffee, there were fabulous handbags for sale, a Guards Polo Club-themed raffle, Guards’ very own version of the Great British Bake Off and a spot the polo ball competition. Board Directors, players, members and visitors stopped-off to sample cakes, chat with friends and take home some Club mementos. Tea, cake and handbags, what’s not to love about that on a Friday morning, and all in aid of charity!
