Hello!
I’m Melissa Mortenson and I’m excited to share my latest fabric line, Safari Party with you. Several years ago I took a trip to South Africa with members of my extended family. I, (like many others I’m sure) left South Africa feeling profoundly inspired and moved. A couple of years ago I got the idea to design a fabric line inspired by the animals I met in South Africa. My previous two lines had featured animals and I thought I’d just stick with that idea. I started sketching and sent some ideas off to Riley Blake and they liked it. As I designed the line, I decided to focus on a few of my favorites animals. The zebras, giraffes and elephants. I also added some of my favorite colors - pinks, greens and navy’s to the line, and sent it off to Riley Blake. The fabric is in stores now and I’m excited to share it with you. All of the projects featured in this look book are available as patterns or as free tutorials. I love to share project and ideas with readers on my blog, polkadotchair.com. It is 9 years old now and I love writing it just as much as I did when I started. Keep an eye out for even more projects and ideas using Safari Party fabrics in the coming months.
