This design project passed through several, closely-connected phases. In the end, these phases enabled the provision of solutions to many research questions. This thesis focuses on cultural heritage, which is one of the most controversial topics in Albania as a result of the irresponsibility of many institutions and individuals. This design process focuses on the construction of a building that could hold a museum, able to preserve objects of architectural heritage. The created space is one which on one hand would protect and pass down to generations the

architectural values of Albania and Tirana and the values of Tirana while, on the other hand, generating space for visitors and residents to find pieces of architecture in every environment. The project is a continuation and a mixture of architecture from the Hellenistic period until now. The project requires space for activities and interaction which creates a sense of freedom. This work proposes an alternative to what might be considered the general attitude of the past few years, where buildings in historic area meant accepting a nostalgic architecture.
