The main idea of this thesis is a Business Incubator as an ongoing part of the market-line, a place dedicated to the exchange of services in a determined period of time. This structure is designed as a meeting point for contemporary requirements and services. The business incubator is thought as an institution where new ideas are developed from the initial stage to their materialization. This facility was designed so that innovative ideas can be conceived, de| 212
velop for a certain period and become valuable because they may participate in many scenarios which are not offered in the market that lies outside the building. The corridor of the future of Tirana is the extension of the main boulevard’s axis that starts from the corpus of the University of Tirana and goes straight to Paskuqan park. Hence, the idea of establishing a business incubator at the end of this axis, in order to create a sig-
nificant segment of interaction between technology and knowledge. The business incubator is also located near a green corridor, a continuation of the Tirana river, from which the building gets part of the resources in order to be more autonomous regarding energy resources. The business incubator project is based on a field that imparts energy flows from the river up to the city. The building is a solid volume on the outside but has a dissolved internal organization.
As for the volume, the building is articulated as a collage of shades, transparency and different materials where the entire volume is enfolded by a common cover which unifies the building. The building’s access points are distributed in its four sides thus directing the flows of people to the most frequented points such as the road leading to the river park or to Tirana.
