NADJA SAID Najla Said es actriz de cine, comediante y escritora nacida en 1974 en Boston. Licenciada en Princeton, perteneció al Public Theater’s Shakespeare Lab y participó activamente en los Talleres del New York Theatre. Hija del célebre abogado palestino Edward Said, es Miembro fundador del Colectivo de Teatro araboamericano Nibras. Actuó en numerosas obras para la televisión y el teatro, entre las cuales se encuentra “ReOrientalism”, obra multimedia inspirada en el libro de su padre “Orientalism”. Su reciente pieza “Palestina” es un monólogo que se estrenó en Broadway en febrero de 2010 en el que narra su experiencia para convertirse en árabo-estadounidense. Najla Said is a film actress, a comedienne and a writer. Born in 1974 in Boston, she is a graduate of Princeton. She has been part of the Public Theater’s Shakespeare Lab and also actively participated in the New York Theatre Workshops. Daughter of the well known Palestinian lawyer Edward Said, she is a founding member of Arab-American Theatre Collective Nibras. She has participated in numerous productions for television and theatre, among which are “ReOrientalism”, a multimedia production inspired by her father’s book “Orientalism”. Her most recent work, “Palestine”, is a monologue which premiered on Broadway in February 2010 and in which she narrates her experience of becoming an American Arab.
