I worLd sErIEs of poKEr EuropE EnghIEn-LEs-baIns I adrian MaTeos diaZ and daniel negreanu taKE homE thE bIggEst cash prIzEs from october 11-25, the casino barrière in enghien-les-bains welcomed the seventh edition of the World series of poker europe, a high class poker festival providing eight bracelet events which attracted the best players on earth. 375 players entered the €10,450 main event, and after a weeklong struggle for the gold bracelet, nineteen-yearold adrian mateos Diaz from spain bested french pro fabrice soulier heads-up, for a massive €1,000,000 first prize and his first Wsop title. as for canadian superstar Daniel negreanu, he was awarded the player of the year trophy and the €25,600 high Roller event bracelet — his sixth Wsop title — along with a €725,000 cash prize. here are the full results of this intense 2013 series. 18

or the first time ever in Europe, the €1,100 Ladies Championship offered a bracelet to the winner and sixty-five players entered the two-day competition. After the first eight levels, there were only eight contestants left, for seven cash prizes. Australian player Jackie Glazier, the best woman in the 2013 WSOP Main Event (31st, for $229,281), was leading the race, followed by Sherill Lindsey, from America, and six French women, Maryline Valente, Laurie Bismuth, Céline Bastian, Anaïs Lerouge, Nathalie Odet and Gaëlle Baumann, best woman in the 2012 Main Event (tenth, for $590,442). Lerouge finished before the money, busted by Valente with T-T, Baumann left the final table at the seventh position, and Bismuth ended third, for €8,950. Glazier kept control during her heads-up against Valente, besting the French player with J-J vs. 6-6 on the last hand, pocketing the €21,500 first prize and the longdesired bracelet.

The Event #2, a €1,100 Re-entry tournament, played over three days with two starting flights, collected 659 entries. Eighty-six players made it to the Day 2, including Chino Rheem, Barry Greenstein, Dominik Nitsche, and Lilian Kramer, chip leader of the survivors.
