It goes a little something like this: the wedding party divides into teams — could be co-ed, or old-school style with girls against the boys — then the chef demonstrates exactly how to make the dish each team will have to recreate as well as provides them with tools and ingredients. The timer is set for 30 minutes and … GO! Each team crafts the best dish possible, which the chef judges at the end. Winning team gets bragging rights and a trophy, but afterwards everyone is invited to what Resman described as a “crazy, knock-down cocktail party” packed with plenty of laughs as kitchen stories circulate. Another option for couples looking to up their information quota rather than their cooking skills is the hotel’s panel of on-hand professionals. “We can bring in experts that can speak to couples focused on honing in certain experiences, whether that is an in-house sommelier to discuss wine, honeymoon experts to fine tune travel plans or Tiffany to talk about rings.” “Men really want to have a say and are much more involved then they were just a decade ago,” Resman said, adding that yet another fun option is for the bride and groom to come in and create their own signature drink (even handcrafted sodas) for their event. “It is all about creating an experience and what it takes to get to ‘wow’ for them and for their guests.
