His second book, a mix of non-fiction & fiction, ‘DIARY FROM HEAVEN’, was published in Jan 2019. He used stories from his own college life and initial days in corporate sector for this book. Q. Tell us about your journey of being a marathon Author ? Ans: Writing started with a personal diary. I was writing regularly as a way to distress self & in the process wrote about 55,000 words about life in the 80's. This became my first book, Version One and a Half. This triggered a process which has produced 5 books so far. I have not decided a fix time to release books; as & when they are ready, I simply publish them; even if this means publishing them in quick succession. At any given time I am working on multiple ideas & whichever idea clicks, that becomes my next release. My next book, a collection short stories, is also ready for publishing. Q.What was that eureka moment ? Ans: My eureka moment came with the mid-life crisis I was going through in 2018. Writing came as a way to cope with the crisis & it did wonders for me. Writing became a way of channelizing negative thoughts & using it as a self-analysis tool. It became a way to de-stress self. Q.How are you coping up with lockdown ? Ans: Lockdown has led to less writing because my writing process involves observing people & surroundings. I write much better in a crowd then at home. My best work has been produced while I was travelling through Delhi Metro & because of lock down my idea box has simply refused to open & even if it opens, it is opening at a very slow speed. To sum-up, lockdown has reduced my writing productivity drastically.

( Jasveer Singh Dangi ) Q.What is your key to success ? Ans: For me writing started with an aim to simply write stories. Though I would love to earn money from writing but that is still a long way to go. A key factor which has worked for me is that, I have never run after sales, I have concentrated on just writing the stories from everyday life using simple language. I write stories which readers can easily relate to. My fully fiction book Double One Zero (110) uses a lot of references from real life so readers were easily able to relate to the extraordinary character called '110'. 3.How much the reviews matter to you ? ? Ans: Reviews are a window to the readers mind & an author can improve his or her writing style using feedback from the reviews. I have learnt a great deal from the reviews & made changes to my writing style accordingly.

With people being confined to their homes due to five-phase lockdown in the country, several digital libraries, e-learning and online reading platforms have given free access to the readers to make social distancing a bit easier. Despite this, more than 30,000 copies of Pink Gender, a novel authored by Anandajit Goswami, who heads the Department of Social and Political Studies in Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Haryana have been sold in last four months.Goswami, one of the bestselling authors in the country, tells about the novel and his passion for writing. Q.Is it a fact that Pink Gender is inspired by Hindi film Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu?

Not really. However, after watching the movie, I decided to use the word 'Pink' metaphorically in my novel. You have to read the novel to know how the movie's theme has been enmeshed in my narration. Q.What was the response of your family and friends to the book? They have reacted positively. Q.Was there any moment when you felt awkward discussing the gender issues with anyone? Absolutely not. I am an author and there is no reason to feel awkward about any subject.

Q.You started your career as a professor. When did you decide to start writing novels? Honestly, I really don't remember when I was into it. But the urge to express myself was always there, at every stage of my life. Q.You are often heard saying 'books are my healing sessions'. I would like you to comment on that. Books are those canvases on which you paint your inner feelings. Once you are done with that, you can merrily look around and smile from inside at everything around you. It's just like music. I possess a heart and soul and writing a fiction is the only way to express their feelings.

Q.Pink Gender: The Extended is now in the stands. Is it a sequel to your previous novel? The new novel deals with deep, complex tapestry of humanistic psychology. It is an attempt to narrate a tale with hope as an undercurrent. Yes, it is definitely an expansion of the previous novel with a larger psychological detailing of characters and plots. Q.Are you optimistic about the impact of your novel on the readers? Well, I have written the novel on gender discrimination and I hope it will certainly affect the youngsters positively.

in-talk-with

getting candid with Vrinda Singh Q. How have been your journey so far ? The writing journey started from blogging like every other writer. "Murky Girl" was an online short web series which turned into a book. "Murky Girl" is a revolutionary Indian novel which depicts an Indian superpower which is the mirror image of the Indian society. The journey of Murky girl cannot be counted in years. It is an amalgamation of events witnessed since childhood. I was an amateur when I first started writing "Murky Girl", but the publishing process wasn't easy at all. Being a newbie in the book world, I had no clue as to how to get a book published. Approaching publishers and submitting the manuscripts was not a challenge, but that was indeed a long process with the traditional approach. Therefore, "Murky Girl" chose the path of selfpublishing which turned out to be very prosperous and victorious. The writing expedition was indeed gratifying and publishing it was indoctrinating.

Q. What was the eureka moment ? When Q. How are you coping up in this lockdown did you decide to publish your first book? ? Eureka moment was when I saw my first book on the shelf on an Oxford Book Store. To add to my happiness, I saw a little girl nudging her mother to buy my book. It's an accomplishment equivalent to receiving a Grammy. My readers are the symphony of my life. Of course, getting the hard copy of your first book is an unparallel feeling but acknowledging your readers is more satiating. I decided to publish my second book "5 minutes" after the success of Murky Girl"." Murky Girl" was released on readers demand while "5 minutes" came into existence after careful research on the vulnerability of corporate women. 5 Minutes is an untold story which vouches for all the working women, unveiling the bitter truth of a fancy society.

Lockdown days sometimes appear to be a boon for I finally got some time to settle down with my family, spending quality time, getting to know them more. However, sometimes, it's annoying too as it's a blow to a writer's imagination. The inventiveness can only soar high with a broad spectrum of liberation. The more liberated the mind is, the better is your creation. This pandemic is a blocker in terms of viable communications, which has limited by imagination scope, but it has never deterred me from trying something new. A lot of my engagements and events are impacted, but technology has come to my rescue. I can do almost everything counting on the virtual world, making the most of my time.

Success for me is not a destination but an unending journey Vrinda Singh Q.What is your key to success? Success for me is not a destination but an unending journey, where I discover myself every day. My success is in self-improvement. I find quenching my curiosity, the most rewarding moment of my day. As an author, technocrat and an entrepreneur, I have yet to walk miles to understand the meaning of success. My motivation is in small things, and my success is in unlocking my potentials for the better good of humanity. Q.How much the reviews matter to you? I improve with each review. We all need to be reviewed and analyzed at every point of time in our life, just to push ourselves to get better. I want to be served with reviews at breakfast because that's how you attain the champion's salvation. Improvement begins with 'I', isn't it? Reviews are blessings in disguise which help a writer establish a name in the literature world. I have massive respect for the reviewers who take out their valuable time to understand the mindset of a writer and spread the word to the world. Vrinda, the author of the prime selling book " Murky Girl" boomerangs to captivate us with her new romantic thriller "5 minutes". The founder of the country's biggest writing platform "Paperwiff", a technocrat at a reputed MNC, an entrepreneur, a speaker and a vehement blogger, Vrinda has revolutionised the country's literary status quo by reaching the mass youth and cracked wide open their writing skills, providing them with a perfect platform to effectuate their literature dreams. What makes her idiosyncratic from the writers of her age group is her finesse of writing in vicissitude has emerged as not just perspicacious but also is an elucidation to the present-day injustice, prejudices and miseries which is the desperate need of the society. Such is the pleasure of reading her is that the writer does it all like it is a beautiful sonnet with an inkling of Shakespeare. Vrinda, through her world-wide followed blog "In the heat of the moment", is on a venture to capture the obscured unheard voices and liberalise them to the biggest possible audience. The Gold medalist in VLSI, Vrinda tries to actualise the same by juxtaposing modern literature and technology. In conjunction with her multifarious savvy, the young Post-graduate Vrinda is also a member of the advisory board of a reputed Govt. University and has a research paper attributed to her name.

Book Review

Etchings of the first quarter of 2020 Sabarna Roy Sabarna, the man who scripted literary success in 2010 with the publication of Pentacles, touched the very core of his readers with realistic themes touching upon complex human relationships - their darker and labyrinthine sides - in the urban milieu of present industrial society, in a lucid, engaging style, has now come up with his new book titled "Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020". Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020 by Sabarna Roy is a celebration of emotions and a truly delectable reading experience. It is fresh and something out of the box that will create an impression in the bookshelves of avid readers. Sabarna Roy’s latest book Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020 comprises a novella and a poem cycle. The novella, in the background is a sweetly evolving dialogue between a step-father and a step-daughter, and in the foreground it is a dissection of ideas pivoted around dualism of human life by discussing literary characters like, Lolita, Humbert Humbert, Anna Karenina, and Nikhilesh; thought-leaders like Hegel, Marx, and Heisenberg; political phenomena like, the Bolshevik Revolution; schizophrenia, love as an idea, and the secret love story of T S Eliot; and ecological phenomena like, marine conservation, and all of this is done in a unique way, almost as if we are engaged in a conversation with the author, to make us realize the plurality of life and accepting it to find peace and harmony in life. The poem cycle is an anthology of 20 sharp edged poems that excite and thrill you as you are encapsulated in the whirlwind of the confrontations between the poet and his alter-ego. A civil engineer turned storyteller, Sabarna Roy shows his profound understanding of dualism of human life in Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020. He uses a novellic manner of ideas for this purpose: through two letters -- Letter to a Step-daughter and A Letter to Suranjana.

#1 Amazon Bestseller The book looks like a journey of the protagonist in-scripted on the pages of life. The book is divided into different sections with different perspectives and the author has attempted to pen down poems and opinions to let the readers go deep into it. In Part A of the Duality section, the author is seen requesting her Stepdaughter for a cup of coffee and desserts which leads to the birth of Part C Nocturnal Conversations between a Step-father and Step-daughter over desserts and coffee. It proves, that the World is listening to you, all you need is to ask what you want. The Book carries some beautiful, and delicious lines that would make you return to this book everyday just to find yourself in the musings of the sparkling poetic idiom. An Excerpt From the Book: He woulBut not turn to ashesd burn Burn forever To resonate my hate The author takes you on a ride of poetic journey to get inside the dense fog scripted behind these lines. There are letters, opinions, thoughts, discussions, and multiple poems covering multiple topics, which makes the book unique and captivating.

Book Review

Etchings of the first quarter of 2020 Sabarna Roy The book carries emotions that can be celebrated, and hated by the readers as well because of its realistic and dark observations. With every new page, there is a new story to read and a new perception to be built. The book Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020 concludes with Winter Poems 2020. It again traverses through manifold moods of human psyche in the light of very complex passages of human brain that make us commit follies, crimes and perhaps, other dark deeds. Now, talking about some of the poems in the poem cycle Winter Poems penned down by the author, it is thrilling and full of action, just like the year 2020. There are poems on Jallianwala Bagh, Dr. X, Sam Mendes, Death, and Civilisation. An excerpt from winter Poems: The sweet rush of death The sounds of cymbals and drums The roaring sounds of youth all over ( Glimpses from sabarna roy's poem ) The protagonist speaks about some harsh realities of today's generation and takes you along a zig-zag ride of self-introspection. The winter poems would leave you with a warm heart and twinkling thoughts of reality. The book tells us how we can take charge of our life by making some simple changes in our lives and how one healthy conversation can lead to multiple healthy conversations making their way to a harmonious life. Certainly, in this time of Covid-19, certainly Etchings of the First Quarter of 2020 deserves a place in your book shelf to explore a new genre of English literature .
