Larry “Pollock Old Man” Gura Larry Gura, 68 of Enumclaw died, Nov. 30, 2017. He was born, Nov. 3, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA to Andrew & Lillian Gura. Larry was a member of Local 30 Carpenters Union, Summit Church & worked for the Bonney Lake Walmart. He enjoyed SCI-FI, cooking, & whiskey. Larry is preceded in death by his parents & wife. Survivors include children Larry (Melody) Gura, Jr. of North Dakota, Molly (Jason) Moore of Roy, Joshua (Carmen) Gura of Wenzenbach, Germany, Caleb (Amanda) Gura of Enumclaw, & Matt (Ashley) Hill of Enumclaw; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lexi, Andy Gura, Clayton Moore, Nathan, Aiden, Hunter, Colton Gura, Kendall & Camden Hill; & his dog, Blondie. The second week of December is the time to buy potted poinsettias and hellebores as gift plants to add some life to your holiday shopping. Poinsettias are the traditional potted plant for gift giving but hellebores are growing in popularity because they take up less space and can be planted into the garden after a few weeks indoors. Hellebores live long and are an easy care perennial that will flower every winter, making them the perfect gift that keeps on giving – and blooming. Gift plants are practical as well as pretty options for office workers, nature lovers, minimalists, environmentalist, decorators, the elderly and anyone who does not want more calories or more things to store. Giving a plant can actually help the recipient breather easier. All plants take in carbon dioxide and send out oxygen. Here are some “do’s and

While living in Seattle he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. His volunteer work was evident in receiving the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award, given by The Chief Seattle Council BSA. Before he retired he traveled all over the United States assembling large container handling equipment for Sea Ports and the railroad. After he retired in 2004 from American President’s Lines, he and Linda moved to Buckley. He loved to cook and was always making large quantities of Soup and Salsa. If you went to visit him you would go home with some type of food he made. That is when you knew he considered you a friend. In the little Spiketon neighborhood of Buckley Mike was the go to man. He had a tool for everything and could fix just about anything using his heavy equipment background.
