KENT CORNUCOPIA DAYS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Kent Cornucopia Days 2017 royalty will be crowned at a ceremony scheduled for 2 pm on Friday. Mayor Suzette Cooke will announce the names of the three scholarship winners: one young lady to be crowned as Miss Cornucopia. Two runnersup will become Cornucopia Princesses. These fortunate scholarship winners will be crowned by the current Miss Cornucopia. This event will be held at the “Plaza Community Stage” held at Town Square Plaza (2nd & Smith St.) Participants in this event are judged on their strengths in academics, community service, and public speaking. Miss Cornucopia will recieve a scholarship of $3000. The Cornucopia Pricesses will also receive scholarships from the Kent Lions Foundation and will represent the Kent Lions and Cornucopia Days at many SEAFAIR events.

SEAFAIR ROYALTY IN THE GRAND PARADE In its 69th year, the tradition of SEAFAIR Royalty is rich with custom and acclaim. KENT CORNUCOPIA DAYS “GRAND PARADE” Sunday, July 16 will provide lots of colorful costumes, drill, dance and marching teams. What would a SEAFAIR event be without the Pirates, a Grand Marshal, Honorary Grand Marshal, City officials, floats, kids, Scouts and bands. Kent Cornucopia has them all. The Kent Valley Artists demonstrate and showcase their art in the Rosebed Park on 1st Ave between Meeker & Gowe streets.

It is also right next to the Gazebo Stage and the Gazebo Food Court. Come on over and enjoy this event that benefits several non-profit groups. KENT CORNUCOPIA DAYS 5K FUN RUN AND WALK The Kent Parks Department is pleased to present the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run. Its focus will be on encouraging families to participate together to get outside and exercise. The race will take place on Saturday, July 15 at Three Friends Fishing Hole Park. Day of race registration will begin at 7:30 am with the race start time at 9am. Registration is $10 or $25 with technical t-shirt. Day of race registration is $15 and $30 with a technical t-shirt while supplies last.
