Representatives of a Federal Way church are on the lookout for a thief who was caught on camera stealing purses on Monday. Video surveillance shows the suspect walking into the City on a Hill Church office and youth center, located at 1336 S. 336th St., at around 9:16 p.m. City on a Hill pastor Russell Korets said the man walked into the bathroom when he first entered and took a purse after exiting the bathroom. The suspect then returned and took a second purse. There were people inside the building but they were unaware of what the man was doing until after he left the second time, Korets noted. Anyone with information on who the man captured on video may be is urged to call the Federal Way Police Department at 253-8356700.

Foster Kids Day at Wild Waves FROM STAFF REPORTS

Sleep Country is hosting its annual Foster Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way. Bring a donation of a new clothing item for Sleep Country’s upcoming Clothing Drive for Foster Kids and receive half-off admission to the park. Foster Kids Day is a great way for local families to spend a fun day together while also showing kids how important it is to give back to those in-need. This event also helps collect important essential items for our local foster children. The gift of new clothing can provide a boost of self-confidence and a sense of normalcy during a turbulent time and gives support to foster families with limited budgets. Sleep Country seeks new clothing in all sizes — children to adult. The most needed items include jeans, T-shirts, sweatshirts and packaged undergarments. Wild Waves Theme Park is located at 36201 Enchanted Pkwy S. Featuring 70 acres of slides and rides for the whole family, the park includes more than 25 thrilling amusement rides, 18 exhilarating water slides and water attractions, along with roller coasters — including the largest wooden coaster in the state — bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, a lazy river, an activity pool and more. For more information, visit wildwaves.com or call 253-661-8000.
