Clallam County officials gathered community input on the two design options at hand for Towne Road at an open house March 19. As a result of the planned setback for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 1960s levee to reduce flood risk and reconnect about 112 acres of the lower Dungeness River’s historical floodplain, Towne Road either will end with a cul-de-sac or reconnect outside of the levee setback area. A public comment period is open until Tuesday, March 31. Comments may be sent to Clallam County Public Works at 223 E. Fourth St., Set. 6, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Or e-mail comments to roads@co.clallam.wa.us.
