As Sound Works prepared to move, Middlebrook estimated his agency annually helped an average of 200 people find employment.

Coffee Oasis case manager is next guest speaker POULSBO — Donna Pledger, case manager and job training supervisor at The Coffee Oasis, will be the next guest speaker at Poulsbo Greendrinks, June 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Guild Mortgage, 19347 Jensen Way, Poulsbo. The cost is $10 at the door; 21 and older. Pledger will talk about ways that at-risk youth are being served in North Kitsap. Poulsbo Greendrinks is a networking event with an emphasis on business and environmental sustainability. Poulsbo Greendrinks meets the second week of the month. NUWC Keyport hosts Industry Days June 17-18 KEYPORT — The Naval Undersea Warfare Center

Division, Keyport, hosts Industry Days on June 17-18 at the Naval Undersea Museum. Industry Days is a forum for private industry representatives to learn about potential business opportunities with NUWC Keyport. On June 17, NUWC Keyport personnel will announce a new requirement for engineering services support, and will give a general overview of Cost Plus Incentive Fee Type Solicitations /Awards. On the morning of June 18, NUWC Keyport managers will provide an overview of NUWC Keyport and talk about long-term procurement projections. The afternoon session will allow industry representatives to meet and spend time with government personnel, prime contractors, and other vendors and suppliers. Registration for Industry Days is free but must be made in advance. Attendees may also wish to attend a networking social event hosted by the Federal Managers Association on the night of June 17. Ag alliance talks about strength of local ‘food system’ BREMER TON — “Farmers, Co-ops, and the Public Working Together for a Stronger Local Food System.” That’s the subject of an event hosted by the Kitsap Community & Agricultural Alliance on June 29, 1-5 p.m., at the Bremerton Boys & Girls Club, 3102 Wheaton Way. The alliance (www.kitsapag.org) is billing the event as a free community appreciation event “bringing together local food growers, consumers and co-ops.” Light refreshments will be served. Participants will discuss the importance of strengthening the local food system, purchaser and producer relationships, and “what the future of food on the Peninsula can look like.” Derek Christensen, produce manager of the Port Townsend Food Co-op, will be the key presenter. Discussion panelists will include Jeff Allen, president of the Kitsap Community Food Co-op; Stuart Boyle, president of the Kitsap Poultry Growers Co-op; local farmers, and an additional panelist to be announced.
