PSE also said the Bainbridge School District lost power, although lights at the high school were on just before 8 a.m. The lack of power was especially prevalent at Safeway in the Island Village Shopping Center on High School Road. Store employees covered cold foods with tarps and blocked off the frozen food sections in an attempt to keep the temperature low.
