ing a roll-up door in the alley for food bank deliveries, and most noticeably, cleaning and painting the exterior. We trust no one will miss the old color. In addition to operating a food bank, POM serves the most vulnerable in our community with emergency financial assistance to deal with issues such as eviction notices, utility bills and medical prescriptions.

We also operate the More Pennies from Heaven thrift store. We at POM understand asking for help is not always easy. That is why we strive to offer a secure, welcoming place to those in need. Because of the generosity of the Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound our building will be sounder, safer, dryer and more efficient as well as a

more attractive member of the Cole Street business community. From all of us at POM and on behalf of those we serve, gratitude and appreciation go to all the Boeing employees who make grants such as ours possible. You are a blessing to Puget Sound! Montye Male President, POM board of directors

Warren Eugene Anderson was born on April 22, 1951 in Viborg, South Dakota to Ernest and Rosa (Paulsen) Anderson. He departed this world on September 13, 2011 at his home in Enumclaw, Washington. Warren spent his childhood in a log cabin in rural upstate New York, and then lived across the United States with his family as his father worked on hydroelectric dam projects, until settling in Burien, Washington. At Highline High School Warren still holds a school track record. He was active in theatre, choir, and fashion modeling for a Seattle agency. He attended the University of Washington for 5 years (Go Dawgs) and received his dual Bachelor of Science degree in German and Zoology. He was a 4-year member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, where he met his wife Lynn Trantow. Warren worked his way through the UW as the head bartender at The Blue Banjo/Doc Maynard’s Tavern in Pioneer Square in Seattle. He owned Antique Piano Restoration Service, his piano and furniture refinishing business in Fremont/Seattle for 20 years and provided piano services to many major hotels in Seattle. Warren was very musical, and enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, dulcimer and ukulele. He also enjoyed traveling the world, and spent time in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Europe, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Some of his favorite adventures included hiking through the crater of Haleakela volcano on Maui, rafting the rapids of the Grand Canyon, and spending a month on Kuta beach in Bali studying Balinese culture, dance, art and music. Warren moved to Enumclaw in 1999 to be closer to his daughter Claire. He was active as a volunteer at the Plateau Outreach Ministries and the Enumclaw Food Bank. He was a faithful supporter of the Enumclaw public schools sports programs, and rarely missed an EHS game of any kind. He was especially proud of his daughter Claire Anderson, EHS graduate of 2008, and a steadfast fan of her volleyball team. Warren is preceded in death by his father Ernest and his loving mother Rosa. He is survived by his daughter Claire Anderson, currently a student at the UW in Seattle; his former wife and friend Lynn Trantow of Enumclaw; his sister Linda Anderson Kildahl and her husband Ken of Eatonville and multiple family members in South Dakota and Iowa. God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The Courage to change the things I can, And the Wisdom to know the difference. Donations may be made in Warren’s memory to Plateau Outreach Ministries Enumclaw. Arrangements by Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home. Please sign the guest book at www.weeksfuneralhomes.com.
