‘Batang Quiapo,’ ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ score viewership records

Good news to the fans of Coco Martin, Bell Mariano and Don Pangilinan. Their respective ABS-CBN series continue to get record live viewers via the web. Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) new adventure boosted “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” to a

new viewership record last Wednesday, ABS-CBN reported. Based on figures by Dreamscape Entertainment, the show reached 492,836 peak concurrent viewers -- or those watching on Kapamilya Online Live at the same time.

The Wednesday episode, shows Marsing (Pen Medina) and Nita (Susan Africa) raising their rent to P750. This does not sit well with Tindeng (Charo Santos) and Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) as they felt that their former friends have changed since becoming rich. Meanwhile, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) wins his first boxing match, sealing his name in the sport, and Edwin (Ping Medina) discovers Ramon (Christopher de Leon) drug business which puts his life in danger. This marks the start of Tanggol’s new mission as they attempt to kill the members of Red Phoenix Group. “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” airs every Monday to Friday, 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Cinemo, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC and TFC. Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also reported that its series that stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano “Can’t Buy Me Love” has reached a new milestone as secrets of Irene (Maris Racal) were unveiled in the latest episode aired Wednesday.

Based on figures by Star Creatives released on Thursday afternoon, “Can’t Buy Me Love” peaked at 475,131 concurrent viewers or those watching on Kapamilya Online Live at the same time. In the latest episode, Irene’s secrets are revealed by her supposed friend Kara (Shaniah Gomez) as Caroline (Mariano) looks for her. She is joined by Stephen (Darren) who questions her trust to her newfound friend Bingo (Pangilinan). Kara reveals that Irene is in debt but wants to build her own bar, thus trusting Felix (Alex Medina). However, Bingo still suspects that Felix could be friends with Caroline’s kidnappers. “Can’t Buy Me Love” airs new episodes on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Jeepney TV, TFC, iWantTFC, Netflix, A2Z, and TV5.
