Allseas’ approach is to support clients already in the conceptual design stage, offering services for project management, engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning, not restricting itself to available technology but developing new techniques and applications wherever necessary. Lorelay was the world’s first dynamically positioned pipelay vessel, changing the nature of the pipelay industry. The DP pipelay vessel Solitaire is the largest and most technically advanced pipelay vessel in the world. In the autumn of 2007 Allseas’ most recent pipelay vessel Audacia was put into service. For shallow-water work, the pipelay barge Tog Mor complements the pipelay capability of the DP pipelayers. All four vessels operate with the automatic welding system Phoenix, developed in-house. Tog Mor, Audacia, Solitaire and Lorelay are supported by the DP trenching and subsea support vessels Calamity Jane and Manta. In January 2007 Allseas took the decision to build Pieter Schelte, the 382 m long, 117 m wide dynamically positioned platform installation / decommissioning and pipelay vessel. Delivery of the vessel is foreseen for 2013. The transportation specialist and full logistics service provider currently operates about 60 multipurpose heavy lift project carriers with adjustable tweendecks and crane capacities of up to 700 tons in tandem usage. As from 2009 onwards, a new series of specifically designed vessels leaves the docks. Crane capacities of up to 1,400 tons and loading capacities of up to 20,000 tons deadweight will set the benchmarks within the sector once again a lot higher.
