Sala tragedy: body recovered from plane wreckage
A
body has been recovered from the wreckage of the plane which crashed with Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson on board. Investigation Branch said specialist contractors joined the operation in “challenging conditions”. It was carried out in “as dignified a way as possible” and the men’s families were kept updated throughout, it said. The wreckage of the plane, which vanished two weeks ago over the English Channel, was found off Guernsey. The Geo Ocean III, the boat carrying the body, arrived at Portland Port in Dorset on Thursday morning as it is the nearest part of the British mainland to where the plane was located. No formal identification has taken place, but the force said both families had been updated.

W
orld number one Naomi Osaka has pulled out of next week’s Qatar Open with a back injury. It was scheduled to be the Japanese’s first tournament since triumphing in the Australian Open in January to win back-to-back Grand Slam titles. Naomi Osaka beat Petra Kvitova in the Australian Open final in January to become world number one “I am sorry to have to withdraw from Doha this year as I was looking forward to playing and seeing my fans there,” the 21-year-old said in a statement. “I wish everyone a great week and hope to see everyone next year.” Osaka has previously suffered with a back injury, missing October’s Hong Kong Open with the problem.

“Just like her former party acknowledged, the short-lived stint she had as a presidential candidate showed that she had nothing substantial to offer or contribute to political discourse beyond on-line rants and thoughtless invectives And because some of these invectives are often retweeted or liked by some of her 836,000 twitter followers, she began to delude herself as an alternative to a President that has a track record of integrity, consistency in patriotism, honesty and performance to prove his status as a true statesman and leader.” Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) to Oby Ezekwesili after she announced her withdrawal from Presidential race
Money talks, Buba, Onnoghen and Buhari’s reelection (1) This piece connects with last Friday’s February 1, 2019 column captioned “Politicians and witchcraft” which coincided with my 66th birthday. By the way, only the banks and the MTN and Etisalat that take benefits from me that remembered the birthday anniversary. Now back to the subject matter. Indeed as a CPC member we had running battles with the migrants from the PDP as they tried to diffuse into the CPC in 2010. There were Buba and Hamman at the National headquarters with the ear to our Presidential candidate Buhari who had total confidence in them. Buhari like the late Sheik Gumi my neighbour (I984-1988) in Kaduna remain wonderful men when money crossed their ways. They would ignore that MONEYTALKS and handover any donations to IZALA in the case of Gumi or Buhari for CPC or to the due process. During the CPC teething stage in 2010, the permutations and combinations and the schemings unknown to Buhari were conducted by them behind closed doors. So one had to swing in the direction of their pendulum. It came to a head when the primaries and the choice of party Chairmen and co were being sorted out at the Katsina polo ground also in December 2010 as well as in other states of the federation. The odds were against us as we had no connection with the Buba cabal at the headquarters to make sense out of the processes. After the primaries, we were schemed out of the jungle politics. To put the records for posterity and as it goes now, yours sincerely decided to prepare a position paper for Buhari on the conduct of the Katsina CPC, as it were. My advice, then, to Buhari as a member of CPC and a delegate was delivered personally to him in his house at Sultan close in January 2011. The 14 pages title remains “POSITION PAPER TO GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI (Rtd) FORMER HEAD OF STATE AND CPC’S PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ON THE CONDUCT OF THE KATSINA CPC’S STATE EXECUTIVE AND THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS FOR THE STATE AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY”. He collected it from me after he came out of a meeting from his study with Muhammad Abacha. The following day Muhammad blew hot in Kano, if I remember correctly, apparently he did not secure Buhari’s support. Of course the hidden hands of Buba and Hamma were at it as it reverberated also in Bauchi and

Engr. Abubakar A. Fari mofari@hotmail.com many others. In Kano their man was Col Jaafaru Isa (rtd) which they sidelined Muhammad Abacha out of the race. I heard complaints from Arch. Muhammad Dewu about the duo with respect to the Bauchi end. Indeed all my observations and recommendations never saw the light of day nor was I invited to shed light till date. So I remained sitting down looking but use my pen and computers to advocate for Buhari as the best and so far in the Nigerian circumstance as the most credible candidate to lead Nigeria to the “promised” land, if you like. On page 9 of the paper “The way forward” and in particular I advised our Presidential Candidate that it is the practice of the Prophet Muhammad not “to love anybody too much or hate him too much”. I had Buba and his ilk in mind. The examples of Prophets Companion were mentioned to throw additional perspectives. Under Recommendations on page 13 item 5 I recommended “Building bridges with progressives …… and Alliance with ACN of Tinubu in the southwest….. I could not understand doing otherwise as Tinubu who had the south-west and disposed to work with Buhari yet something went missing. The trusted Buba had their ways with Buhari and the arrangement with Tinubu was not on the table. Now one is vindicated. I believe these recommendations are there on page 13 item 5. I remember myself and Imam Sani Isa the Chief Imam, WAFF Road mosque were pretty sad at these unfortunate turn of events as if to cry together, one time just before going for a Magrib prayers. But one cannot come out crudely to condemn others to a leader but sort of approach it with mature wisdom and allow him to ask questions. Now our fears have come to pass. Buba that Buhari mistook as a super hard core loyalist acts as a desperado and a dangerous snake. But his waterloo is foregone. After shiftings allegiance to Kwankwaso, it has reached a fiasco. The lame
duck reason that “Buhari had somewhat reneged from his earlier position not to contest for the office of the President” and all that is his grouse. Now from Kwankwasiyya to Atiku and their plan B to make Atiku by all means either by hook or crook has collapsed. The Dubai agenda that rested on selling the bogus “Buhari plans to rig election” and using the courts to “steal” the Presidency with the aid of the “Judicial” somersault has crushed to pieces with the Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen admitting “mistakes” and “forgotten” what MONEYTALKS exposed the plan B agenda. All the noise of PDP and the judgement of Onnoghen to nail “crooks” with cases to answer at CCT would have been enough to send the “sai Atiku” to comma. But being shameless and clueless they will not learn their lessons. Obasanjo believes in the “door-die” so must fight on even in futility. It will be “die” in the end and never “do”. “MONEYTALKS” politics is the game Buba and the “sai Atiku” understand. Now another “sai Atiku” in the person of Usman Bugaje the protégé of the Obasanjo, Buba, Saraki and the PDP MONEYTALKS in exposing his anti-Buhari corruption sentiments naively. Bugaje on Thursday 31st January 2019 was aired in a pro-Atiku FM 97.7 Alheri radio in Kaduna whose Chairman Baba Ahmad was a Chief of Staff to Senate President Saraki/Atiku campaign czar. A sweet and smooth talker who will dazzle you with halftruth and inaccurate facts and scenarios and cover ups if one is a clueless person. The first fraud that Bugaje exposed his desperation is to compare 16 years of the PDP misrule to 4 years Buhari’s tenor. It is with only a fraudulent analyst who will say 16=4. Bugaje supporting “witches” that for 16 horrible years looted and looted our commonwealth and now like the mothers of victims of witches would like to forget our dead innocent children for “sai Atiku” and his gang of “witches” to return to the looting spree. An indication of selling the NNPC to his “friends” and amnesty
for “looters” to return chicken change for forgiveness and the circle restarts has been stated as a manifesto for Atiku and the goodnews for other “witches” to get ready to kill more children. Perish that thought. Let Bugaje compare 4 with 4 in all of their ramifications. With security, to tell me that going to Katsina today is worst than during the Jonathan/PDP days and that the same applies to Maiduguri or Northeast is a fraudulent analysis. With kidnappings, Bugaje did not tell us that, his mentors attempted to poison Buhari to get rid of him so they would continue with the looting and “earthquake corruptions” and “spiritual corruption” and lack of payment of salaries and pensions. That those who were desperate to kill Buhari could go to all length to contrive communal conflicts and genocide as in Mambilla and Zamfara which all men of good will should oppose and do all in their power to stop. We never heard them express concern at all. Only to go to Vice President to lobby him to appoint them as Vice President because as believers in “marabouts” and “fortunetellers” they were guaranteed that sooner than later Buhari’s dead body will be flown to Nigeria. With Dasukis loot they sacrificed the security of the north to save for their children when they die to inherit “blood money”. If this cabal could go this far to attempt to kill Buhari and looting huge millions in US Dollars under Dasuki then they could do worst by contriving commotions in Nigeria to give Buhari a bad name. It is unfortunate that Bugaje, a former Muslim Student Society President I knew at ABU since 1971, is dilly-dallying with issues on honest leadership and justice.
