FOREST PARK Mangrove THE

The area of 128 hectares in Thu Thiem new urban area will be converted into a mangrove forest park in the southern delta, with the main function of environmental protection and drainage. This forest will also serve as an accommodation and entertainment area.

The majority of this area is a mangrove area that is expected to be devoted to sightseeing, tourism and research activities. The construction works on this land must be considered thoroughly in terms of scale and architectural style so as not to disrupt the general landscape.

The mangrove forest park will be the most diverse ecological development area in Thu Thiem and is a very special project in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City. Most of the area is planted with mangroves and naturally growing vegetation, combined with navigation routes dug and dredged from existing creeks. When there is a high tide from the Saigon river, the water will be filtered and returned to the waterway system.

With the aim to preserve the natural ecosystem as a mangrove forest park right in the city center, up to now, many kinds of plants have grown naturally, whereas many wild animals have been preserved. This is a good sign to be able to form a unique mangrove forest park right in the city center.

The preservation and breeding of existing animals and plants in the mangrove forest park is very necessary. However, due to the large area, it is difficult to prevent outsiders from coming here to hunt and fish. Hence, it is of great significance to propagate, mobilize and educate people to ameliorate devastating effects to the area and contribute to developing a diverse ecosystem here.
