Myles’ music in Surrey
Surrey Kids Conference offers free sessions at two locations Hundreds of children and parents will converge on a pair of Surrey venues for this weekend’s Surrey Kids Conference. The sixth annual event offers a wide range of free workshops and educational sessions on Friday, Nov. 16 (at Surrey Sport & Leisure
Complex) and Saturday, Nov. 17 (Fleetwood Community Centre). The conference is held annually during the week of International Children’s Day, on Nov. 20 this year. The event theme this year in Surrey is “Our Rights & Our Responsibilities.�

Peninsula Productions has announced details of a pair of shows in White Rock. A second annual Gospel and Blues Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 16 at First United Church will have John Lee Sanders fronting a five-piece band, to feature vocalist Sibel Thrasher and fiddler Gary Comeau. “Last year’s Blues and Gospel show was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event,� said Wendy Bollard, artistic director of Peninsula Productions. “It is an entertaining way for folks on the Peninsula to get together and celebrate the season. Last year, the room was definitely rocking.� Show tickets are available at Tapestry Music (1335 Johnton Rd., White Rock) and via tickets.surrey.ca. Meanwhile, Peninsula Productions is also bringing family-friendly entertainer Norman Foote to Coast Capital Playhouse on Friday, Jan. 4.
