South Delta Baby Fair set for Saturday in Ladner

Expectant parents, new parents, grandparents and families are invited to attend the inaugural South Delta Baby Fair this Saturday. There will be an array of interactive displays, demonstrations and the latest in baby products from many South Delta community services and businesses. The free event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ladner Community Centre. The fair is a great

opportunity for expectant and new parents and other caregivers to find out about community programs, services and resources. In one place, parents will get information on safety and first aid, ages and stages of child development, parent/ tot programs, introducing literacy and much more. Community businesses will have novel, fun and useful products on hand. There will be a great door prize that comes with visiting the fair.

Breastfeeding and baby changing areas will also be available. The Delta Early Childhood Development Committee and the Delta Community Literacy Committee are co-sponsoring this event to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood development and how parents can foster fun, play, learning and literacy as they raise their children. St. Andrews members pursuing life fully alive St. Andrew’s Church hopes members of the community saw its float during the Tsawwassen Sun Festival parade this summer and received an invitation to join the new church. St. Andrew’s is a young work of God, having existed for just a few years. A few men and women felt they were called by God to plant a new church, which became a reality in a unique setting — an art

gallery. In good time the Lord sent a priest, Rev. Dr. Michael Dobson, who was formerly a professor, but who has also been called by God to the work of planting. St. Andrew’s Church is rapidly developing into a special group that: loves to worship the Almighty Trinitarian God; loves to learn together; loves to serve and loves to grow in

Christ. It believes the love of these things results in a life “fully alive.” The church also offers friendly home groups; ladies and men’s Bible study groups; a prayer and healing ministry; and an active missions and outreach group. Visit www.standrewsdeltabc.org for more information or contact Rev. Dobson at mike.w.dobson@gmail. com.
