Sisters Ailish Wallace and Louise Dannhauer opened Spa Time in Tsawwassen 10 years ago. British Columbia Industry Training Authority to raise the standard of training for people working in a spa setting after the provincial government deregulated the industry in 2004. In the beginning, she says, the spa was geared towards pampering. “Now we’ve become a little bit more ingredient oriented with anti-aging.” The full-service spa offers everything from facials, manicures, pedicures and hair removal to massages, eyelash extensions, microdemabrasion and LED photo rejuvenation, the latter two heralded to reduce the signs of aging. Spa Time also offers many services specially designed for men, an area that has seen an increase over the years. Dannhauer says she always keeps an ear to the ground for new developments in the industry. She is also part of the board of directors of a new non-profit organization, officially launching in the new year, aimed at raising the standards of the industry. Spa Time is celebrating a decade of keeping South Deltans looking their best. Owned by sisters Louise Dannhauer and Ailish Wallace, the Tsawwassen spa has, over the years, become an oasis of relaxation, pampering and a place to fight the signs of aging. More than 10 years ago, Dannhauer, who was teaching at the Blanche Macdonald Centre at the time, and Wallace, who has a background in esthetics and spa treatments, teamed up with sister Niamh Fahl, a hair stylist, to open Spa Time. Initially across the street from its current location in the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre, Spa Time quickly outgrew its first 900square-foot space and after just three years in business the sisters upgraded to a 1,500-square-foot premises. The larger space has allowed Spa Time to offer clients a luxurious spa experience through a relaxation lounge with fireplace, a spacious party room to accommodate get togethers, birthdays or wedding parties, and a host of expert
