Expect to compete

A few minutes today, peace-of-mind tomorrow.

SENIOR GIRLS, from page 11 Younger players will be expected to hit the ground running. For leadership, Mouritzen will rely on Grade 12 post Breena Wirtz, the Grizzlys leading rebounder and most experienced senior. Other key players will be Grade 11 forward and pure scorer Kaitlyn MacDonald and Grade 11 point guard, three-point shooter and playmaker Aveen Rezends. With a team full of athletes, Graham will look to push the ball and score on transitions, but with the addition some height in the form of Grade 11s Jolene Slootweg and Kassia Bernardjcuk, Mouritzen said the team will also work to develop its half-court game. “Our expectations are to compete with any AA team in the province this year,” she said. In single-A play, Unity Christian is off to a shaky start, losing their first league game by more than 20 points to Credo Christian in Langley, but rookie coach Dave Bron is optimistic nonetheless. “We started tentative, but we’re starting to put things together,” he said. His team’s potential lies in its depth, he said. “We have a really deep team for single-A,” he said.

A new year is almost upon us, which usually means New Year resolutions, looking to the future, making new plans and organizing goals for the year ahead. It’s not uncommon to find financial security near the top of the list. Protecting your family and your belongings first is a natural priority, and there are simple ways you can do that. One step to ensure you are protected is to do a yearly review of your home insurance policy against the changes that may have taken place since you took it out or last made upgrades to it.

G.W. Graham Grizzly point guard Aveen Rezends makes her way around a Sardis opponent during recent action. “In a couple years, I think we’re going to be really tough.” For now, another reason for optimism is point guard Mandy Van Muyen. “She’s a great team leader for us,” said Bron. “She’ll put the whole show together. She penetrates, great ball handler, can shoot from the outside and is a good passer.”

Letting your insurance provider know what has changed helps them provide you with better service and support. It can ensure that you are not unnecessarily overpaying or under-insured. If all your details and information are accurate and up-to-date it can also help speed up the claims process. That’s why it is important to talk to your insurer about big life changes. These changes could be considered as any change that may affect the level of risk associated with your home. In other words, as your life has changed, so may have the needs for your home. For example: T ^]W lZg _]U Zg_Xc_e ]WX h]WZ basement or the occupancy of your home has changed T ^]W dlVg alW_jdgi l Y`laa kWYc_gYY and operate it out of your home

A change can subject your home to more, or even less, risk and could mean additional premiums may be owed to the insurance company or new discounts may now be available to you. Either way, to ensure your home and belongings are properly protected, it is important to notify your insurance company when things have changed.

When you get your renewal document, contact a BCAA Insurance Advisor to review your coverage and ensure it matches your circumstances and meets your needs.
