To celebrate National Daiquiri Day on wednesday 19th July, we’ve found you some delicious daiquiris to try

Berry Daiquiri

(Makes 1)

Ingredients

• 175g strawberries or 200g raspberries (or use a mix of 100g strawberries and 100g raspberries)

• juice of ½ lime

• about 6 ice cubes

• 1 tbsp lemon juice

• 100ml white rum

• small lime slice to serve

ONE If using raspberries, blend these first to a purée then rub through a sieve to extract the pips. Put a handful of ice cubes in a powerful blender and crush. Add the berries or pulp, plus the lime and lemon juice and rum. Whizz again and pour into a chilled cocktail glass straight away. Decorate with a lime slice.

Frozen Mango

(Serves 1)

Ingredients

• 50ml white rum

• 25ml mango liqueur or mango gin

• 10ml lemon juice

• ½ ripe mango, peeled, stoned and cut into chunks (130-150g prepared weight), plus a wedge to garnish (optional)

• ice

• Thai basil sprig, to garnish (optional)

ONE Put the rum, liqueur or gin, lemon juice, mango flesh and a generous handful of ice in a high-powered blender that’s suitable for crushing ice.

TWO Blend until smooth, then pour into a large cocktail or margarita glass and garnish with a mango slice and Thai basil, if you like.

Watermelon

(Serves 1)

Ingredients

• ice

• 50ml white rum

• 25ml watermelon liqueur or watermelonflavoured spirit, such as gin

• 10ml lime juice

• 100g watermelon (prepared weight), plus a wedge to garnish

ONE Put a handful of ice in a blender suitable for crushing ice, along with the rum, watermelon liqueur, lime juice and watermelon flesh. Blitz until just smooth.

TWO Fill a hurricane or other tall glass with ice, pour over the daiquiri and garnish with a wedge of watermelon.
