Community Club Picnic Aug. 12 Parkland

picnic at Spanaway Park this Thursday, August 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Park picnic and swimming grounds. Coffee will be furnished by the club and the dinner will be potluck. Bring your family and food and get acquainled with your neighbors as wc have a lot of work to do this winter as a community. If any questions, feel free to call Mrs: Grodvig ·at GR 7232 or GR 8210.

Bethel Picnic The Bethel committee will hold a picnic Thursday, Aug. 19, at Spanaway park with pot· luck lunch at noon, bring table service. Coffee, cream and sugar will be furnished. Mrs. Fred Anderson, chairman, extends a cordial invitation to all new and old P-TA presidenls and vice presidents in the Bethel district.

Walter Kinney. Refreshments will be served by the Midland P-TA. The Playground program at Parkland and Midland will close on August 21. A playground farewell party will be held at each playground on Fri· day, August 20, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The Franklin Pierce summer recreation program has been very successful in that approxi· mately 400 children have taken part in playground activities and over 500 have taken part in the swimming program. Such activities as pet shows, talent shows, doll shows, hobby shows, a cook-out, inter.playground softball games, a variety of handcraft projects, a visit to the Pt. Defiance aquarium and zoo, story telling and many other interesting events have kept the children at the playgrounds active.
